I just caught the end of the news story this morning but it looks like Peterson who plays Griss is having some kind of problems with the producers of the show.  It may be over the the other CSI shows but I'm not sure.  He said they could do a different CSI everynight as far as he was concerned, but that he would play Grissom only as long as he was under contract.  Did anyone else hear anything?

Okay, this is going to be a rant so if you don't want to hear it, skip over it. I absolutely HATE when these a**hole actors finally get the great role of their lives, become soooooo popular and then believe their own publicity and quit the damn show! I HATE IT!

Think David Caruso in NYPD Blue. Think Shelly Long in Cheers. Think Farrah Fawcett in Charlie's Angels. Think whathisname who has completely disappeared and played the lead in Northern Exposure.

Stupid actors. Most of them are completely unknown before these shows, then they get this great role on a leading show and let it go to their heads. They actually believe all the publicity about how wonderful they are and how they are just wasting themselves on this little ole tv show so they leave. Then they found out the truth. The show was the ONLY great thing in their lives and now NO ONE wants them for anything.

When a good television show comes on the air and we the audience watch it, then continue to watch it, we begin to invest our time, our energy into loving these characters. We have a personal relationship with the actor who is portraying the character we love so much. So when that actor stands up and says, "I quit, I don't want to be on the show anymore," then I am truly upset.

Peterson aka Grissom: If you have a hit show, you should sign on to the end. It may be the only hit show you will ever have.

Hmmmm I think you have a point there Cindi.  Maybe he thinks he can be another Goerge Clooney, remember that guy from ER???   He's been off ER for what now 4 years? He's had maybe 2 three movies and not to much else.

Actually William Peterson a.k.a Grissom had a movie career before CSI and although this is a lucrative gig for him, his first love is theatre and then movies.  He also hates the fact that CSI is becoming a franchise like Law and Order and when his contract is up he is out of there.

That will be fine by me. I just hope he stops by the CSI: Miami set and takes David Caruso with him!

I couldn't agree more Cindi.  I can't stand David Caruso. But I would miss Gil but the original CSI would still work with Catherine in charge.

I heard William Peterson was happy now and going to stay with the series longer than he had originally planned.  He had originally thought these spin-offs would kill the original series, but they have made it stronger.

I don't much watch CSI:  New York, but I do like CSI:  Miami and I love the original.  I understand the rant about actors getting the big head, but in this case, I think it's a bit warrented.   According to an article I read in TV Guide a couple of years ago, William Peterson was promised by the producers that CSI wouldn't become what it has become.  He agreed to do the show because of its originality.  One copycat I can understand, but two?  Plus, the one set in New York isn't that great.  I had high hopes for it because of the big-name actors, but the show is too dank, dark, and unoriginal.

It'll be interesting if CSI: NY survives.  I have a feeling it may be a flash-in-the pan, since it seems a bit too dark and there really isnt anything new about it.  The actors in that show are good though.

Brian, I also wonder if NY is a flash-in-the-pan.  But if it dies out, I say get rid of David Caruso (don't care for him) and give Gary Sinise (who I've always liked) a transfer to Miami!
(p.s. Sinise was in one of my favorite war films, A Midnight Clear......just wanted to say that I highly recommend that film!!!)

Unlike Law & Order - I love all those and can't wait for the Trial By Jury which will air Thursday at 10 pm Pacific time - I really can't stand CSI Miami or NY.  I thought I would like the NY because of the actors, but just can't get into it.
But yeah, CSI would still go strong if Peterson leaves - the show is that good.
Oh, and BTW, the regular time slot for anyone interested in TBJ will be Fridays at 10.  I know that interferes with something I watch, but not sure.  Oh well, time to break down and get TiVo.

I usually watch Monk on Fridays at 10 but I will tape it and watch the new L & O. I don't know what it is about those shows but I love every single one of them.

Now CSI, I watch the original and I watch Miami once in a while but I never got past two episodes of NY. It really irritates me that they are forever shining huge flashlights in the houses in the middle of broad daylight. Can't they turn on a dang light? I hate that dark, dreary look.
