Seasonal Rituals (Rites)
Laurel brought to my attention that we (SLC) doesnt currently have any specific rituals to celebrate the seasons (wheel of the year). I contemplated this alot actually. To be entirely honest I dont enjoy the layers upon layers of rules most religions use as their structure. The same held true for me when I explored Wicca. Though I do very much appreciate what the ritual represents the "how" is what bogges me down.
Also recognizing that many of our members come from different spiritual backgrounds and have integrated different beliefs into their spirituality we will offer information on many ways to celebrate as well as some of the religions celebratign the season changes (Sabbats). To me it is much more important to find a way that works best for you rather than trying to follow someone elses way. So having said that.... here is the goal for this section:
- - List all celebrations that might be inter related to the season.
- - Promote some understanding of other cultures/groups celebrations / beliefs.
- - Share a more traditional ritual (usually taken from someone's site).
- - Share a very basic way to recognize the Sabbat but not necessarily using ritual to do so and offer some suggestions that you and your family might use to celebrate the season.
There will be just ONE (1) sabbot listed (the next sabbot). After that Sabbot is celebrated it will be taken down and the next Sabbot will be forthcoming. The dates used will be from the wheel of the year.
I also want to leave open to you to comment on this section and the information within it. I'm not posting this for my good health its for the members that want a better understanding of the Sabbats. If you have suggestions, or want to share your ritual experience with the group e-mail me at [email protected] If you have questions about ritual please post them on the message board.... we have many members more familiar with ritual than I am that would gladly post replies. We are afterall a community and these are the things families do for one another.
Blessed Be.
