You feel that it is right for you and that is what makes flow. And a hint for beginners is that imagination is an important key. Imagination is the tool you use for visualization! If you do not feel flow, but feel good, imagine the energy. Overtime, you will feel it. Q: So when doing a spell we can listen to music? A: Music gets into the very depth of our bodies just like a melodious voice. I feel certain voices in my chest and I love that feeling music can easily stimulate in us. This will compliment visualizations. Sometimes I find it difficult not to speed when there is a really good song with a driving beat on, for instance. There has been a lot of scientific research about how music affects our brain. This is often used to put people in a meditative or hypnotic state. Many cultures and practices use this concept. Unfortunately, it can also be used to take advantage of people as well. 
Q: Enchantress, when I work at my alter, I often charge water with my intent and drink it, my feeling is that its my way to symbolize sending my intent through my entire body... like getting my physical focused into my intent, do you do this? A: That is excellent ! It is very good to actually charge water and food always. If you can remember to do this it will definitely have good affects on the body. I even charge vitamins! They talked a great deal about that in the Celestine Prophesy. This is very good advice. Some people do that every night before they go to bed, it is very healing for the body. Charge the water you put cut flowers in and see what happens. Q: Perhaps a spell passed down through years gives more belief in your intent, or is it more trial and error? A: A family spell has much energy to it because it is so special, a family recipe. Someone who is raised in a family that has energy practices does not have some of the blocks that others of us may have. They are raised to sit up straight, do their work, say their intentions, and have a nice life--hopefully... Q: Why do some people find working with their powers to be more natural then others? A: Some people are more opened to powers. They do not possess some of the blocks that we get from society. They are more natural with it and do not have a problem with family, social groups, etc. Yes, skeptics. Children are very magickal. They see and make magick in everything . Then their invisible friends have to go! Poor things... Children who are raised to do this naturally, also do not have the realization that they are so different from others that are less open. Their skills often are so well blended into their life that it shows through life style, attitudes, nice thoughts, and their active imaginations. It does not show that they are hiding something-- like some of our double lives. 
Q: When you said "family spell", are you saying that it’s kind of passed down through genetic memory (if that makes sense)? A: That can very well be, also, some are lucky enough to be taught by their family. That is really special. It is also a nice way to think of someone who has passed fondly too. Ahhh. Daddy taught me that. Very deep. Q: What about those who learn on their own? A: It is fine to learn on your own. There are actually many good sources and information that are so available. Why make the common mistakes that everyone makes if you have the rare ability to understand through others experiences? If you learn well from a book, then I suggest you try it. For me, being there accellerates the learning process since there is so much more than meets the eye. It is very good to have teachers to guide you. They let you know that they have experienced the same thing and how they did and what you might want to not try. (The don't touch the stove rule. Wait for them to be away and learn what hot is.) They can send you in a positive direction to solve certain problems. Think of it as starting a business. Some aspects of business are engraved in stone. There are laws to be followed. However, there are many aspects of business that are very novel. New ideas that work! It is always good to check in and talk that way you do not get over your head. Certain things can be tricky. Sometimes, your guide knows when to jump in and what you have to see for yourself: Sometimes in teaching, we try to teach certain things. I present the lesson again and again and again in all different ways. Sometimes the lesson is in time. The teacher teaches and the teacher learns. Q: So just as in two people praying for the same thing, sending the same belief into the mass consciousness, tradition for spells can have the same power, kind of already set in consciousness. But you could also create your own methods with enough belief? A: Many people believe that we work things out in our minds as we sleep. If you remember them or not, these dreams may help you during the day. Certainly, you are sending the intent. What will work for you is different than what may work for me. For instance the candle. Some rituals forbid the "blowing out" of the candle. The candle represents the sprit, so it would be disrespectful in some systems to blow it out. Others choose to blow out energy with intent, and that is part of the release. The difference is in the symbolism, the belief, and the energy intent itself. There are many very complicated systems of magick. Some of it is a very shocking read, but very interesting. For instance, in some of the very old books, crystals are mentioned (even in the bible they're mentioned). In one of the magick books, they state that when the earth was made, that the energies were broken up into different components of the earth. That is the explanation why some crystals seem to be better for certain things than others according to the old books. Blending energies is part of how we achieve and maintain balance. The elements (fire, earth, water, air ) and how the elements interact, is very complex according to the books. Magick is just like every other subject, you can take it as far as you are willing to go. Complexity may actually throw off your abilities, however. Others thrive on it. Q: What type of magic is done with water? A: Water has a great deal of energy, especially for me for some reason. Water is cleansing, symbolic of new life. Baptism is a great example and used in many different systems as well as the most obvious ones. Love spells are nice in water but I can see why fire would be great for love! So many things in spells are symbolic within them. For instance the Relationship Communications Spell. I believe you will see how the symbolism, timing, and mood come together to have the spell caster sending the proper energies. | "Relationship Calling Spell." I did one today as I was in the bath, since Valentines Day is coming up! I used rose petals. They are nice in the water, clear, beautiful water with rose petals floating in it. Now, that naturally sends out the energy to bring a new love into my life! I had a candle flickering in the corner of the tub and I was burning incense and while visualizing the future and what I want, I thought "lover hear me call." (Perhaps implied here is the cleansing from the old relationship as well. Is this what they meant when they sang about washing that man right out of my hair?) *** It is my practice that it is important not to force intentions on someone else. It is not fair to cast a spell on someone in particular and the end result could be negative if it is not a receptive person. It is fine to send out a spell with the intent, "If this should be accepted." The best spells are the ones cast upon yourself. They can be easily controlled that way. If 100 lovers hear me call, for instance, I can hide out until I successfully remove the spell. |  Q: How do you feel about burying old ex-relationship things in the earth to release them? A: I think that is a good release also. So, we have similar ideas in earth, fire, water�?/FONT> Q: and what about air? A: Powders are used sometimes. I suppose holding the powders or earth in your hand and watching them blow away could be similar. Q: Now emotional upset....that is a wind thing... I can stand in the wind.."which is a lot in new mex" and cleans from wind. A: It's the focus of your energy that is the reason a spell works, the mechanics of a spell vary in form for similar circumstances in many different magicks. The wind is by far my preferred method of cleansing. Q: The wind seems like it would also be a good tool for thanks for spirit. A : Now I love smoke for communication with spirit. I learned that from a Native American... to me that is perfect. Smoke is the spirit messenger. It spirals up into the air and high into the sky. That feels good. Q: What about a spell with crystals? Are there any? A : Many, many�?nbsp;crystals are often used to focus or intensify energies. Charging water, sending messages, a focal point for intent. Q : Looking at all this I would say I practice spell casting in some form or another every day. A : We all do, but call it different names, words sometimes separate people. I am just going to talk about one more type of spell. To ease an unrequited love�?This one involves fire and its transformational qualities. As you know fire takes one substance, and turns it to another. Energy is always becoming-- that is the transformational energy of this spell. | Ease Unrequited Love Kneel before a fire with a handful of herbs and as you hold the herbs, think, "Consume my hurt and set my soul free." Toss the herbs into the fire and visualize that bond being released. Breathe in deeply and feel the peace and calm. | Let’s compare that to a similar water spell. | Ease Unrequited Love Hold rocks in your hand by the water. Holding the same release for unrequited love intent, toss the stones into the water and release yourself from this bond. Feel the tranquility of the water. | Now for me the fire spell seems a little bit too strong burning and so forth, but I love tossing two handfuls of rocks into the water! Sometimes I just freely toss rocks into the water. My friend’s child often has requests to go toss rocks into the water. Perhaps that is just good, old fashioned release. I bet you did this when you were little. Try it again. I bet if feels wonderful. Watch out for the frogs!
