Fixed Gaze

Begin by choosing an object that appeals to you. Start with something small and simple. A lit candle would work well, but you are free to choose any object you like. Get fully relaxed. When you are ready to begin, fix your gaze on the object. Concentrate fully on noticing everything about it. Memorize all the details. Gaze at the object as long as you can without blinking. When your eyes begin to water or sting, it is time to close them. When you close your eyes, fix the object in your mind's eye. Picture it in as much detail as you possibly can. Alternate between gazing at the object, and seeing the object in your mind's eye.
