Meditation for Begniners, con't.
---taught by Czech Woods

CzechWoods : ok, so don't feel bad, if you don't achieve relaxing AND breathing at the time, just try again, LATER
CzechWoods : what is very important to a beginner: don't let anything ruin the fun of meditations

Laurelovely01 : fun?

Gia1018 : I guess fun comes in time?
Gia1018 : i mean, the beginners tend to be the most serious ones i guess

CzechWoods : at the beginnings, there is little to no fun in practising. so if you allow yourself to get frustrated over nothing, you will never come to the state where meditation is your daily drug
CzechWoods : gia, exactly
CzechWoods : so I recapitualte

CzechWoods : step 1 - count 4 breath

CzechWoods : step 2 - count 4 breath and relaxing

CzechWoods : now that you have learned to actively relax ....it is time to start to learn to focus
CzechWoods : ok, so we were at starting to learn to focus.
CzechWoods : I would recommend two different ways to learn to focus. one is through simple sensation
CzechWoods : simple sensation means: light a candle and watcch the flame while you are relaxed and breathing count 4
CzechWoods : OR: you have eyes closed, then you need a simple sound, like the one of singing bowls, or triangle - whatever
CzechWoods : or, you don't want either, the maybe you should smell aromaoil in a lamp or you use a incense stick
CzechWoods : this is what I mean - by simple sensation
CzechWoods : the other way, and this is more for the advanced practice, is simple to concentrate on a simple thing
CzechWoods : like an apple

Laurelovely01 : if you used the triangle/sound idea you could make the sound to the 4 count

CzechWoods : or colour, anything really simple
CzechWoods : Laure gets an extra A, fantastic idea
CzechWoods : now, when you have learned these three basic steps, we are talking now, with daily practice about in 2 or 3 months
CzechWoods : we have now learned, that it takes some steps, some discipline, to learn some of the basics in meditations, some discipline, mind you, not TOTAL self control, and not TOTAL self denial

CzechWoods : step 3, count 4, relax, focus on simple sensation

CzechWoods : step 3 - advanced : count 4, relax, focus on simple mental input

CzechWoods : step 4 : TADA

CzechWoods : we start meditating on topics
CzechWoods : usually, we repeat step 1-3 before we start step 4
CzechWoods : now we are there, where we wanted to be ... throughout the chat of today, throughout all the practise
CzechWoods : we have learned SIMPLEness
CzechWoods : breathing, relaxing, focussing the mind on a single subject
CzechWoods : we have learned, how to become children in spirit again
CzechWoods : how to prepare ourselves to connect to the ALL
CzechWoods : it takes practice, dedication and patience
CzechWoods : now the FUN begins
CzechWoods : the work, that really brings satisfaction
CzechWoods : you should start with simple things to meditate on. going from the step 3 advanced state, you could start with colours, do brain storming on your topic, allow your ideas to come, do not censor them
CzechWoods : next difference to eastern traditions: no pushing and pulling back to topic
CzechWoods : ALLOW YOUR MIND TO WANDER OFF
CzechWoods : MAYBE YOU STARTED WITH MEDITATION TOPIC

BLUE: AND NOW YOU THINK OF SEX

CzechWoods : OK!
CzechWoods : thats no bad!
CzechWoods oops caps, sorry

intense_female : lol

CzechWoods : you go on, and let your ideas, thoughts, insights flow, after some time (maybe you set an alarm clock, so you dont get too drained) so after 20-30 minutes, you take a journal, and write the thoughts down
CzechWoods : Congrats: you have had your first meditation experience

intense_female : cool

CzechWoods : and your first mediatative success
CzechWoods : ok, Q & A time

intense_female hand up

CzechWoods : ask away

Mantis__Knight has Q

CzechWoods : Intense, mantis, ask on

intense_female : Czech when I used to do silent prayer (meditation) i would lose track of my breathing and sometimes it felt as though i had stopped for an extended period of time
intense_female : however, now I believe I simply went past it mentally.... whatcha say about it

CzechWoods : Intense - I ask back so I am clear on your q. ok?
CzechWoods : Yes. Intense ...

intense_female : when I meditate I sometimes loose track of my breathing and wonder if I have stopped breathing
intense_female : it used to frighten me

CzechWoods : intense : you are no beginner in meditation though, I assume

intense_female : well

CzechWoods : but, you did, some when in the past learn to breath etc ?

intense_female : I have begun over and over

CzechWoods : something like step 1-3

intense_female : I was more asking the question for people that might experience the fright of thinking they've stopped breathing during meditation because they've lost the awareness of their breathing

Mantis__Knight : how about time

CzechWoods : I know, I am about to answer it
CzechWoods : if you have learned ONCE to breath, but during step 4 you leave it be, it is NO problem
CzechWoods : but you have to really know step 1 - 3 before you can skip it
CzechWoods : so Intense, to answer concretely: if you stop to breath during meditation, it's not a biggy

intense_female : okay

CzechWoods : if you feel bad after you realized that, you just re-do step 1 - 3  and go on

Laurelovely01 : Czech if I may....

CzechWoods : but the tradition I am teaching, is not narrow minded
meditation, once it is learned, is meant to be recreation

Laurelovely01 : I just wanted to clarify...

CzechWoods : yes, pls go on

Laurelovely01 : I believe what intense was speaking of ...was a point when breathing becomes 2nd nature and you no longer have to count...so to speak

CzechWoods : Intense, was that your Q ?

intense_female : lol well...yes

CzechWoods : ok !

Mantis__Knight : my Q?

CzechWoods : Mantis, please ask

Mantis__Knight : time
Mantis__Knight : time slips away

CzechWoods : Mantis, time, ok - what about it?

Mantis__Knight : for me it is like hours and yet minutes or even seconds pass

CzechWoods : mantis, always or just during meditations ?

Mantis__Knight : at first only during meditation but I have learned to meditate while doing repetitive motion or thinks I'm very good at or reach a meditative state

CzechWoods : very good Mantis, that's the way to go

CzechWoods : so, you have the impression of time going faster then it actually does ?

Mantis__Knight : it's more like I experience more in a set time then normal

CzechWoods : Mantis. ok. but I did understand you right, that you
experience the time in that way...
CzechWoods : ... as if it went faster then it actually goes or faster = more intensive, if it is so., it is no need to worry anyway

Mantis__Knight : it's like I'm in a bubble and time around me goes slower
Mantis__Knight : I perceive the time to be going normal for me

CzechWoods : during meditation, you connect to the ALL

CzechWoods : all you experience there - in ideal frame is, that you feel it as usual/normal - alike what you say
CzechWoods : now you experience a lot, or very intensive - and that is a good thing, means, you are very well connected
CzechWoods : if it scares you, or makes you feel uncomfortable, then slip out of the state, and ground yourself

Mantis__Knight : oh know I just wanted to learn to do it better
Mantis__Knight : oh "no" I just wanted to learn to do it better

CzechWoods : grounding ? or meditating ?
CzechWoods : ooh I see

Mantis__Knight : my goal is to do everything better I'm just focusing now

CzechWoods : Mantis, take time for slow breathing, b/c - your rush for
better ... makes you go faster

Mantis__Knight : I know slow that's what I'm doing now, one thing at a
time

CzechWoods : but faster not always goes profounder

Mantis__Knight : I don't mean to interrupt you but I have this
Mantis__Knight : learned that is, slow and steady

CzechWoods : s ok, mantis - you have a 2nd chance

Mantis__Knight : focus is required and the faster the movement the
worse the focus

CzechWoods : Mantis, my idea for you - would be "meditus interuptus

Mantis__Knight : I don't speak read or write Latin

CzechWoods : you mediate , step out of meditation - ground - restart
meditation

Mantis__Knight : why?

CzechWoods : Mantis, me neither. I played with coitus interruptus, my bad
CzechWoods : meaning: interrupt meditations once in a while
CzechWoods : but, this is just a advice because I am worried
CzechWoods : I have seen your heart go too fast
CzechWoods : maybe I am wrong though, if you achieve to ground and slow down, your connection will get more stable

Mantis__Knight : if thou doth sayith so

CzechWoods : mantis, we should discuss that on the board some more *hint*

Gia1018 : do you use crystals while you meditate?

CzechWoods : yes, I do, but not always
CzechWoods : Gia, that is a very good question...

intense_female : okay room

intense_female : we're gonna go ahead and close, thank you all for coming
intense_female : gia can you post your question for Czech in the
community?

Gia1018 : yeah.. np

CzechWoods : gia, pls hold on
CzechWoods : yes. I use sometimes crystals for meditations

Gia1018 : what kinda crystals, I mean, does it make a difference

CzechWoods : sometimes I use crystals to work a certain chakra,
sometimes I use them to get more insight on them, sometimes i use stones to help me to focus, yes,. it eases meditation
CzechWoods : you could use lapis for instance or other blue stones, to open your meditation chakra, you could also use quartz, to make it clearer

Gia1018 : what about amethyst

CzechWoods : you could use fluorites, to diversify and concentrate
CzechWoods : amethyst is very good for profound meditation on spiritual topics, best placed on chakra 7 though

intense_female : okay guys I need to close up (hot date tonight)

Gia1018 : good luck intense!!!
Gia1018 : LOL

intense_female : okay guys
intense_female : Czech thank you so much for the chat

Gia1018 : take care, all of you..

CzechWoods : ok, I would like thanking you for the WONDERFUL chat
