Are you sitting comfortably, lol

Did I ever tell you.....
Of poor old Middin Meg,
So little had the woman that,
She'd walk the streets and beg.
Late at night, she rummage
Through garbage and your waste,
Quite happy to relieve your bin
Of treasures, you'd call waste.

One day, upon the sidewalk,
She spied a paper bag,
Inside she saw more money
Than, all her life, she'd ever had.
So she took it to the station,
Said, "Here, this isnae mine"
And the sargent said "It could be,
If naeb'dy comes tae find"

For months, poor dragget Maggie,
Still dredged for food in bins,
When along came that same sargent
Saying "You've been blessed for awe yer sins"
Well,  Meg went off to get it,
Thinking " Noo, ah'll eat fir weeks,
An' ah micht keep ain an frame it"
But, alas, the whole town speaks.....

Of how Meg's find, was greater,
Than the scavenger had thought,
How she turned around,
And bought the town...
Now 'respect' Rich Margaret's bought.

Phew!!! Now, there's a shaggy dog poem, if ever I wrote one! lol
PS. MIDDEN is a scottish dustbin, if anyone didn't know

Your kind of right, Stella, its a small building which holds the dustbins in Scotland for a block of flats or 'tenements'....or was when I was a lass, lol, so they may have reused the word. Thanks, Zy
