i will post some of my poems here...but I do need you to know know my poems can be confronting and may trigger as I use my writing to heal from past abuse. If this is too confronting then please don't read. I don't want to upset anyone or make them feel uneasy and I do want to feel I can post my poems and prose here freely with out being self conscious . just wanted to run theat by you before I post here.

hugs
Cara

Hy, Cara, it is good of you to consider other's feelings when you do post some of your cathartic work, but as I have said many times, poetry is so often about life...and life is not always moon and June scenarios.

I shall make you a Collective Poem's page for you to list them as in how Jacqui had done it, but please post some (one at a time, as other's do) on the main board, for not everyone reads the Collective section, only those who wish to indulge in more of a specific poets work. I have already read some of your poetry, Cara, and although emotionally graphic, in my opinion, it does not contravene the 'Family Rating', but if you feel any one is particularly strong...place it in Collective and if it is too extreme...I will let you know and delete it.

We have had some very 'heart wrenching' work responded to with understanding and appreciation in the past here quite a few times. Hows that? Zy

Welcome to our board Cara!  I too experienced abuse at the hands of my alcoholic father while growing up, so I too will understand where you are coming from.  Peter I also love what you post in replies!

Hello Cara

Welcome to the board  my name's Emma lol but people on here know me as Fluff. Sorry I havent introduced myself before now - only just got on the internet after a few days. Basically I just wanted to say the same as everyone else to be honest; we are quite an open group of people on here who have all experienced many different things in life and we have all shared that through poetry/writing. Sometimes reading stuff thats based on particular situations and emotions can be difficult,  but as both a poet and a human being, we try and understand those emotions whilst reading.  Thank you for taking our feelings into consideration though - I do appreciate that because I have often done it myself with some of my own work.

Each and every poet has a different style, with different feelings, but thats what makes them unique as a poet and thats what gives us a voice as a writer, so for me, you post away.  I would feel very privileged to read some of your writing and thank you once again.

Fluff
