Storms blow and the willow bends
to snap then heal, as the blowing ends,
but the weaker stems will not give again
for, some are lost in their hour of pain.

All cannot be ~ the oak of the wood
for some by name are misunderstood
and, in martyred sighs and woofilled cries
each tree in turn, their place denies.

A forest glade is a wondrous place
with foliage growing in their own space,
till the branches start again to flay
as unique becomes ~ mass disarray.

Oh Zy such beautiful expressions!  Where is your published book?  I looked for it in the bookstores.

Hy, Dix, I don't have 'a published book' ...yet,  have to finish it first and since it's been going for about four decades (with five and ten years gaps in working it) heaven only knows which of us will be finished first, lol.

I started way back in the mid fifties with odd poems in The Girl comic and moved on to a magazine my Mum used to buy called The Peoples Friend and eventually had a couple of things in The Reader's Digest, but those all happened in my teen years, Later on I had a few pieces used in anthologies and a friend used a couple of pieces in one of her books, but my time was diverted from the idea of being published 'bookwise'  and my thoughts about it were shelved for a retirement excercise until the last couple of  years or so...but time is still my enemy. Sorry, but thank you, Dix, for such interest. I'm a bit lazy on the enthusiasm scene for publication and have really only written for my own enjoyment and amusement, since a kid, Zy

This is a bit of a metaphor, Stella, not really meteorologically (phew...sp. lol) inspired.

Thanks, Stella, Zy

Well, I have been working on my book of poetry for decades too lol.  Called:  "Reflections of Life."  Maybe it will be done when I am gone haha.  I too have been published in Poetry Anthologies, and Good Housekeeping with a short story.  "Breast Feeding and Barry:  How I survived!"  lol.

Hi Zy (again lol)

I love the images you create in this, I got a really vivid picture in my mind whilst reading. I wondered though if there was a deeper meaning to this, Im not sure what brought it to mind, but for some reason I could relate those words to people.

I too look forward to the time when your book is published - and I say WHEN because you will finish it! lol.

Love always, Fluff xx

Deeper than it first reads, Peter, it's a bit of a metaphor from reading another board and the shinanigins going on there, lol, but read it as you will, I am pleased you liked it at 'face value' anyways, thanks, Zy x
