The Navajo live in Northeastern Arizona, southeastern Utah, northwestern New Mexico, in the Four Corners area of the U.S. They call themselves Diné, their homeland being Diné Bikeyah and their language Diné Bizaad. It is a Na-Dene or Athapaskan language very close to Apache. The Navajo are the greatest Native American group of the US, they total about 200,000 people, and 130,000 speak the language. |
