What makes my parpkeet keep biting at the cage wires ? Nothing we seem to put in the cage, or do seems to stop this.
Any help will be appreciated !

Hi, Addie

I can't help you, but someone else may have some suggestions. Do you have lots of toys and things in his cage for him to chew on and play with?

Addie, you might try a bigger cage, more or new chewable toys and things and maybe a cuddlebone or mineral block for her if you don't have one for her. Does she eat fresh veggies? I noticed my tiels don't chew thing as much if they have to crunch up fresh veggies. Just a few thoughts...

I have two questions:  1.  What are the dimensions of the cage?  and 2.  Does she do this constantly or just occasionally?

Is she chewing on the cage wires or does she attack them only when someone comes close? If she's chewing, try to figure out why and put a stop to it, but if she's threatening someone by biting the wires occasionally it won't be likely to hurt her.
My Diana ekkie whacks the cage so hard when I walk by that I keep telling her she's going to crack her skull one of these days.  She's being cage protective as a 9 year old female. Funny thing, she is calm when she's not in the cage, until hormones hit, then she's a biting maniac.
