Well, I weighed myself at the Chiropractor's office and I've gained another 5 pounds, so that means out of 50 lbs I lost last year, I've gained back 10. So I got my butt on the exercise bike yesterday and biked 2.5 miles in 15 minutes and that's where I"m headed right now... - KoKo | | | | |

I did 2 miles/15 minutes on the bike yesterday. I'm trying to get motivated. Kathy - DEFINITELY buy a bike if you can. I joined a gym right next door to where I work and I still can't seem to get myself there like I should. So I'm still depending more on the bike at home anyway. It's so much more convenient to just hop on the bike when the mood strikes. - KoKo |

Great to see these posts!!!!! KoKo - glad to see you cycling. Make a decision to do it. I think 15 mins. is great. I agree get a bike if you can afford it Cuddles! The most important thing is to get a good seat - no matter is if it's a stand up or recumbent one. If it's not comfortable, you are not going to want to do it. If you can, try them out first. I cycled Monday for 30 mins and did 8.4 miles. EB - how's it going? Hugs, angelbear |

Thanks for all the encouragement. I'm pretty old... sons 20,18, daughter 15. Wife of 24 years. Two dogs, tntc cats, rabbits, chickens, ducks, and bicycles. Do you know there is more biking activity that really counts to me on this site than on the biking group??? Cool. Work this week and for some time has been pretty rough. I took some time to work out last week - once. not enough I really feel better when I do, and have better control all the way around. My dau tells me I have been 18 days without a day off, and I had a 78 hour week by 1900 Saturday. This is a new week. Some major projects done (for now) I should be able to get back on track. I need to learn to check this from work. My home connection is slower than weight loss. NOW THAT'S SLOW!!! I am delighted that you all are riding and hope you get a good bike if you are in the market. I strongly recommend for a bike shop bike rather than a dept store bike if you want to enjoy biking fully. You'll really be able to tell the difference if you ride more than 5 miles at a stretch. You guys keep riding!! What a wonderful thing to be accepted and encouraged. Thanks again. I will just do it. I was recently at a convention where the theme was "be strong and do it." Thanks again. Is that redundant or what? EB... aka... Kenworth or KW. (not what you think) ps... sometime I'll write where these names come from I think you'll like it. |

Wow, I just read what I wrote. That was newsy but not plany. Parts of it even sounded gripey. ... open keyboard, insert twinky... ouch. So.... I plan to ride or work out at noon daily. I plan to check my blood tid. I plan to write down the days meals first thing in the morning and stick to it. I plan to eat my snacks. I plan to make it to the chat if I can.. When is it again? I'll post my weight weekly if you remind me. yikes! Thanks again. EB |

Hi EB, Or KW,,,,, and now you stop saying any part of your post above was "gripey"!!!! I loved it all,,,, felt like I got to know you better and it sounds like work was pretty stressful for you recently,,,,,,, Glad some major projects are done so you can take better care of yourself!!! We will be more than happy to keep encouraging you,,,, your plan sounds great to write things down and really concentrate on what you need to do in the next coming weeks,,,, you will feel better if you do it,,,, just doing it is sometimes the tough part,,,,, I think if and when it becomes part of your routine,,,, it becomes easier for any of us!! I don't have a bike yet,,,, Dave and I are thinking about it,,,,, I want one for inside,,,, not outside,,,, I already found out with walking,,,, I can do so much more on a treadmill than walking in the environment,,,, don't know why,,, but with the heart situation it is how it is!! Thanks for the tip about the seat there KoKo,,,,,, that is why I got rid of the bike I had before,,, my Butt killed me afterwards everytiime,,,,,,,, EB,,,,,, you might want to check out our journal thread,,,,,,, many of us have been writing down our levels, exercise, and what we ate on a somewhat regular basis,,,, I was out of town,,,,, so have been off a couple of days on it,,,, gonna start it back up today. Incase you are wondering where our dear cheer leader is,,, Angelbears is off for about another week,, But she'll be happy to see you are still cycling,,,,, Keep moving all,,, Cuddles/Kathy |

EB - how's it going with you? I have not posted here for awhile because I have not cycled, partly due to the fact I was away. I did not cycle last week, but I did get three 30 min. cycle times in the week before. Today, Friday - I cycled for 30 mins and did 8.3 miles. Hugs, angelbear |

Great job Angel! I was thinking about you yesterday and wondering if you were back yet. It's good to see you and also it's good to see you exercising again. I've been verrrrrry busy at work and at home and haven't cycled in over a week. I will today. - KoKo |

That's great KoKo! I've been walking on the treadmill (an hour) everyday since I got back (I really want to get my 10,000 steps a day!) and doing the gazelle (30 mins) in the evening. I AM having a hard time figuring out when to bike. I find that when I am away from it - it's hard to get going on it again on a regular basis. Now maybe I'm being a bit hard on myself, but I really like having the variety that the cycling adds to my week. I only do it three times a week for 30 mins at a time. I was thinking what can I do to get me motivated - I got out the movie, Titanic, and started watching that. I hope to do it today, too. I think coming here and posting helps me, too. Hugs, angelbear |

Well, I never cycled on Saturday but biked for 15 minutes last night instead. If I can do at least every other day, then I'll be happy. - KoKo |
