Looking for any descendants of my grandmother's brothers and sisters.
She was Alice Ada CLUTTERBUCK, (born 1880 in Barton St Mary, Gloucester)the daughter of Amelia Lodge and Walter John Clutterbuck.
There were nine in her family.
She was widowed in WW2 andcame to New Zealand in the late 1920s with her two sons.
She went back to England (Devon) to her brother Frank (Francis) Clutterbuck in 1959 but unfortunately fell on the ship and broke her hip and went into hospital but died a short time afterward.   I have her death certificate but unfortunately it does not give a place of burial, or cremation.  Is there any way of finding whether she was buried, and if so where, or cremated.
Any information or help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards
Jennifer Balfour, Wellington, New Zealand

Hi Fran

thank you for your message. Yes thats right Margaret (Maggie) from Canberra
and I have found our grandfathers were brothers, it was very exciting for
both of us and we are looking forward to meeting up soon.

My grandmother - Alice Clutterbuck - I haven't had any success with so far.
I would really like to find any of her brothers and sisters children who
would be my generation, and find what happened to them all. I think there
were 9 in the family and her mother Amelia, died quite young I think. Both
Alice's parents were dead at the time she married my grandfather in 1911.

I do have the census record for 1881 and 1901 but any others you are able to
help with I would be most grateful.

Thank you so much for your help. It is more difficult trying to get info
from this side of the world but the internet has been a fantastic help.

Thank you again.

Kind regards from NZ
Jennifer

Jennifer

Hi Fran
you are amazing !!
Thank you for what you do.

Yes, I do have her death certificate but have no idea where she may be
buried and would really like to find that out. She may have been cremated
but no one here knows. She wasnt actually any religion that I know of but
if anything would probably have been CoE.

Jennifer

Hi Fran

yes, obviously too easy !
thank you any way for trying. Should I now contact those churches to see if
she is in their graveyard or is there a town or city that administers the
cemeteries in the area? If she had been cremated where would records of
that be kept? Is it by the city authorities?

I hope you are having good weather in your part of the world I have been
reading and seeing on our news the awful storms in some parts of England,
particularly Hull, and it is your summer ??!!! It is of course winter here
and altho it has been quite cold over the past week it isnt too bad and we
never have snow at least in the Wellington region where I live.

Kind regards and thank you

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer
I have just read your messages on here reference trying to find where a relative was buried or cremated.  I hope you dont mind me answering but my husband is a Deputy Registrar at our local Crematorium so i asked him what you could do to find out. He said you could try the local council from the area of the address you have on the death certificate failing that the only other way is to write to all the local Churches, but he said if it was in the 1800's your best bet is to try the Churches, but it wouldnt hurt to try the local council.
By the way i have some Clutterbucks way back in my family, just thought i would mention that lol.
Hope you have some luck in your search
best wishes
Dee
