Has got to be at the school if possible or close proximity.
Summer 2002
Tour of school, various stalls: caning, alastain shooting, cider drinking etc.  What about a cross country run across the Quantocks.
I am happy to help out in the organisation.
Happy to fork out a lot more than £5 10/2/2001

Summer 2002, May maybe.
It would be good to make a weekend of it. Probably not a bank holiday though because the M5 would be packed as always. Sounds good, maybe more? 10/2/2001

The school is a great idea, and the thought of sleeping in our old dorms - well!
May time would be good for me

£5.00 or more is a very fair price 10/2/2001

great idea for the school. it would be nice to chill out in the grounds drink and be merry. it would be weird for the people who havent been back since as everything would be so much smaller. the logistics of this would be massive. good luck to the organizers. i wish i could help but being out of the loop for so long i wouldnt be of any help.

keep us up to date. get the messages out to everyone. it would be great to  see the mates/brothers and sisters that we all left behind all those years ago.
2002 may bank holiday weekend!!
bring a bottle or two!!!!!!!!!!!!!
great idea.maybe the price could be renegociated as it will probably cost a little more 10/4/2001

Has to be at the school
I think the Bank Holiday idea may not work very well. As mentioned by someone already the traffic will make life difficult but also remember that those with families may find it more difficult to get away on their own over a Bank Holiday. I would go for end June/early July to get the weather and the long days when it is light until late. Again this is before schools breakup and families go off on their hols.
What about an inter-house football match for those still fit enough?
Surely it has to be more to cover the cost of food etc 10/4/2001

School would be a great laugh and it is the one place that everybosy knows how to get to.
summer would be great as long as people can make it.
a piss up with old friends is a great idea and not much different to what happened at the school when we were there anyway. is it going to be for all years? it would be funny to find out what had happened in the past.
dont mind how much as long as it is a lot of people 10/4/2001

THE SCHOOL IS A GOOD IDEA
SUMMER OF 2002
AS IT WOULD BE GREAT TO SEE EVERY ONE AGAIN
IT WOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE ENTERTAINMENT DURING THE EVENING.  A WHOLE WEEKEND OF FUN WOULD BE THE A GREAT IDEA
THE SPORTS HALL ISA GREAT PLACE TO HOLD A DISCO OR NIGHT CLUB ATMOSPHERE AS IT IS A BIG PLACE AND THE IDEAL POSITION FOR IT.
IT WILL BE A GREAT TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE AND I HAVE ALOT OF THEM AS I WAS THERE FOR 8 YEARS.  SPONSORSHIP WOULD BE ANOTHER IDEA IN HELPING TO FUND THE EVENT, THROUGH OLD PUPILS COMPANYS AND COMPANYS IN THE AREA.  IT WILL BE SO GREAT TO SEE EVERYONE AGAIN NAD HOPE IT TAKES PLACE SOON
ANYTHING UP TO £100 I WILL PAY FOR WEEKEND 10/4/2001

There can be no other place to have a reunion but the School itself. End of. :)
The best time would be when the weather is at its best, although I do accept that this *is* the United Kingdom. The best time would be early summer, prob. May-June.
We contact Matron first and see if we can get one of the newly revamped rooms to host a banquet. Thought it might be a bit much to expect Wally to do the cooking. As if anyone could want to return to *that*...
No problem. I'd probably make it a tenner. 10/5/2001

Has to be the school, hopefully not clashing with any function that has booked already.
Late June/early July, not a Bank Holiday due to traffic!!
Like the idea of a pool party & disco. Not too sure off the bouncy castles especially if a video is flying around!! (Justin Cooper!)
Will fund higher if need to. 10/6/2001

Has to be Quantock.  Mind you- went back a couple of years ago and there were no trees up by the boys (psycho's) block- it had all gone. Looks completely different.
Anytime- as long as plenty of warning is given. Can help out if needed.
Plenty of the old pupils (not literally).  Bring a bottle or few and hopefully in the summer.
More will probably be needed 10/6/2001

Yeh, school sounds like a good idea, but are't the using it for refugees??
Oh, well the more the merrier!!

Worst case scenario, we could always camp at Greatwood!!

View the details of this row. Nick Dykes MSN NicknameNickD1958 1975 I would go along with the school as the base.Ask Mr Peaster, I'm sure he would go along with it. Any summer weekend is fine by me, but avoid the Bank Holidays as it would be a nightmare. Anything as long as it does not include digging up 'dead womans' ditch'. not really a problem at all. 10/7/2001

View the details of this row. William W-W Overlord 1987 Baaa !! Has to be the school - or within a stones throw of it ... ! I think it may be better to have it during the school hols - there must be quite a few of us with kids and it would be easier to offload them onto grandparents etc during the hols. Plus school hols will be after the various exams of our younger members who are sitting exams at Uni/College. A weekend during the school hols would be my recomendation Assembly by Warriner ... OK no maybe not ! Can manage reaasonable fee. 10/14/2001
View the details of this row. Phil Muir Phil Muir 1990 It can be nowhere else except Quantock School Anytime really, just as long as there's plenty of notice. It would be a mind blowing experience to hold it at the old school its self. No other location would feel appropiate. Although this would dependon the Peasters. It would be a good experience to relive the building,as it was 16 years ago i last saw my old school pals when I left at the end of the third year.
Mid summer when the weather is fine, late July / early August.
Would it be possible to locate any of the old teachers. Summer BBQ as posted earlier would be good, Perhaps turn the old drama hall into a club for the evening. Spread over a long weekend would be a pleasure.
what ever the cost! 10/25/2001

Anywhere, I guess, but certainly back at the school if you wanted to recreate the full horror.
Late July/early August 2002/3
I still find it intriguing that so many have such fond memories of the place but I must admit the very idea of a reunion appeals (like a good horror film). Perhaps the caterers could give everyone devastating food poisoning to add the authentic charm of the mid- to late '70's.
It's got to be worth whatever it takes.... 10/26/2001

Back at the old school in our old Dorms.
Say when and I'm up for it. Just gives me about a week to two weeks notice.
Well I didn't do much drinking or dancing while I was there first time round.  So it's time to rectify that now.  POOL PARTY!!!!

Anywhere at all. There would need to be big organising going on if it were to be at the school........catering, entertainment, events, rotas, etc.
Anytime. 2002 summer isn't far away. If a date was agreed, word would spread like wildfire, but if 2002, decision will be needed in next couple of weeks. Probably need a small group/committee currently living locally(ish) to get it off the ground properly. I'm in Devon.
As above.
Need to be more if it is to be a decent/memorable event! 11/10/2001

It has to be at the School, to be able to see what it looks like now and the grounds around the school.  It is also the easiest place to be able to get to four everyone.
In the summer, August time would be the best i think.
We have to have the bouncy castle, that was the best bit about the Summer at Quantock and to have all the old teachers there as well, like Mrs Chudley and Mr Langley.

If the price was set right, then it could be in the interest of Mrs P to sort out some accodation and lay on some grub.  A party with some music in the Eve would be good, but if not, we could create our own !!

If it's worth doing, it's worth waiting for: Summer 2003 is best, then it can be organised properly and make it a really special event. Do it for a long-weekend, you can't see all the people you'd like to in one overnighter. Organise some activities. I'll bring my Ninja suit if you like, and you can all chase me while I try and find some weak victims. Any price, let's make it good. 3/3/2002

Well it would be interesting to get there. Just let me know when. Yes the school would be the ideal place. Would be greta to compare stories with the people that attended the school after i left. Times i know changed, and so did the school.
