I do not mind amphibia
Although its mammals I prefer
Perhaps it’s amphibia phobia
I have a softer spot for fur
Should the crocodile beguile
Scales and teeth, I find deter
Yet could I hug a reptile
It’s my style to covet fur
Most of the time, fish are fine
I’m sure you would concur
Yet here’s a thing, I cannot swim
And none of them have fur
I did consider whether
I fancied birds for what they were
But in any weather a tickly feather
Just ain’t the same as fur
No pigeon loft, or goldfish bowl
I find comfort within a purr
Feline creatures on the whole
Possess the fur that I prefer
