Aw I'm sorry scots. If you chew some gum it might make the pain go away. That is what I do when I have a soar throat and it works good. I have to go out in the morning and get tiki some more pellets and get some more toys for both birds and the rat. I love going and buying stuff for tiki and london. It makes me soooo happy when the enjoy their toys. I can't remember the last time I got something for me, but I don't care. As long as my animals are happy so am I. Everytime someone ask me what I want i always say petsmart gift card or money etc. There is nothing like seeing your bird happy. Anyways a little girl invited my brother and I to her b-day party at Fun Factory, but I don't think I'm going. I want to sleep in tommorow. I'm tired. I have had a rough couple of days/weeks w/ little sleep. It has been so pretty here the past couple of days. except a storm every now and then. I have been wanting to take tiki outside but I'm afraid she might get sick. Well have a good night everyone. TTYL Megan

I hope everyone is well and nicer weather will soon be here for all.

Well, it looks like today is my day to not be able to sign into msn. I'm
getting the dreaded message "25" under the butterfly. It usually lasts for
24 to 48 hours, and makes my life miserable in the meantime. I have to open
internet explorer to go to the msn hotmail to check messages. The only way
I can get to the funtrivia site is to use the history function. Oh well,
maybe tomorrow or the next day, things will be back to "normal."

Anyway, Happy New Year everyone, everybirdie and everycritter! The new year
is going quickly. All the animals here are fine, except Sunshine, who is
recovering from getting her toe stuck in the bars of a cage. (Details under
"What was your last catastrophy?") The first couple of weeks of January
were warm and wet, with a fair amount of rain for dry eastern Washington.
Those on the west side of Washington really got a drenching. Then it cooled
down and we got a couple inches of snow a week ago.

Since I'm a Seattle Seahawk fan, yesterday was a red-letter day....the
Seahawks are going to the Super Bowl for the first time ever in 30 years of
being a team!!!! I'm still pinching myself, thinking this is a dream. I
found an article about our team mascot being an augur hawk, an African
native. There is no such bird as a "seakhawk." If anyone is interested in
reading it, the article is found at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10962674

I am around but have had a stinker of a time getting into  any msn group........then when I do I cannot post anything. I try everything but standing on my head....which I am sure my birds would come out of their cages and lock me in them if I did that.........LOL.......Deb

Wow finally get the thread to open.....had a time earlier.
I made a vets appointment for Major in the morning just to check and make sure all he has is a hard moult..... I wish sometimes irregardless of how insignificant I think a change is, I'd write it down with the date..........his cage is covered in down and thread like pieces so much so he has managed to get the same stuff into the next door neighbours cage..... and she isn't appreciating it..... Thats Jasmine...
Today is overcast and I thought we'd be having another high 70's day. They change the forecast almost daily and still get it wrong...

Brrrr ... it is cold and WINDY here today! Because we are on an Island, when we get winds they are from the ocean, and they are cold! We have grey clouds overhead, but at least it's not raining ... at the moment.

I've been having a terrible time on the boards today. I keep getting the blank white pages, or the "can't find that page" message. It sure is annoying when you try to post and it goes off into cyberspace somewhere. Experience has taught me to always copy my message BEFORE I click Send Message. At least that way I can try again and just paste the message into the reply window instead of trying to remember what I said.

Birdlady, I read the article about the Seahawk. I wasn't aware that the Seahawks' mascot is actually an Augur Hawk. He's a pretty cool looking bird in any event, but it does seem odd to have an African bird as their mascot! lol  I hope the Seahawks do really well for you at the Super Bowl in February!

Pacann, when is your surgery scheduled? Please let us know so we can be sure to have you in our prayers.

I'm going to my folks for a visit shortly, and I'll have dinner with them in the dining room where they live. It's always so hot in there so I'll have to wear layers so I can remove stuff as I get over warm!

Have a great week, everyone!!

Abby

The article on the Seahawks was very interesting. don't know who to root for in the Super Bowl..... Probably the SH since they deserve a win after fianlly making it to the SB.
Abby it sounds so cold there and today we were in the 70's.......... It was supposed to rain and maybe DD will send it on from Texas. I gather it got stuck there since we didn't get any!
The house has been so quiet today as usually Major keeps everyone in line an jabbers all day long. Kind of nice for a change to be able to think in peace and quiet. Mind you rather than the picking feathers I'd go for loud and boisterous any day....

It is so foggy here I can't see the house across the street....
Lovely and warm though, warmer than indoors and I had my cuppa sitting on the patio. Birds are still asleep as I really darkened the room windows last evening so it was nice to sit in quiet and watch the wild birds eat.....
My little wren was wating patiently for me to fill up his feed bowl....

I had to drive into Victoria today, and coming home this afternoon was a nightmare. The winds were horrendous, and the rain was coming down in sheets. There were downed trees on the highway that I would normally take to come home, so I had to use some backroads. What would normally take me 20 or 30 minutes took longer than two hours. Mind you, that included "getting lost" time!

The ferry sailings between here and the Mainland were cancelled from the 3:00 sailing on in both directions due to the high winds, and this doesn't happen very often.

There are power outages all over the place, but fortunately it's still on here. I have a flashlight close at hand just in case. I sure hope that not too much damage is done.

I hope you are all having better weather than I am!

I forgot to mention part of this. When I arrived at the university, I decided to leave my coat in the car rather than cart it around with me. So I tossed it back into the car and headed inside. When it came time to leave, I reached in my pocket for me keys ... and realized that they were in the pocket of my coat which was locked in the car!!! What a way to end a long and tiring day!

Fortunately, one of the women at the conference had a BCAA membership (similar to AAA I do believe) and was able to call a towtruck to get into the car for me ... I was so ticked at myself! lol

Abby what a terrible night you had and I saw where the weather in that part of the world was threatening. As was in in GB area. hope you two are safe.
Hope it's all passed and everying is a bit more cheery.
Our sun is out though I don't know what the temps are but it's supposed to be in the high 60's.
I'm planning a trip so I'll probably be off line for a while.
I'm still not sure about the vet visit today whether to keep it or make another with a different vet in another location.....
Have to decided as times getting short.
