have any of you got any ideas how to deal with a past sexual assualt? it happened many years ago but i think i put it in a box because i wasnt ready to deal with it at the time. i am very happy with my life but wonder if i should be trying to find a way to open the box incase it causes problems later on in life. any comments welcome. i dont think i even really believe it happened because ive never done anything about it. i have told my gf though so its not a huge secret or anything.

hi hunni... i will give u a truthful response ok...

i have been sexually assaulted 2 x once wen i was 6 yrs old on nye, the other just last yr in may 05,

ok... i have to deal with getting thru this everyday and it can be painful but its better out in the open cos u can get help from professionals like councillors n psychologists they r gud ppl who help take the pain away n help u understand it wasnt ur fault...

i aint over mine still but if u feel that by bringing it outta the box then u do it huni i am always guna b around n i will b able t personally no how ur feeling thru each stage ok huni x

hey, thanks for the replies. im not sure i know how to let it out of the box. it was 8years ago. ive talked about it with my gf but afterwards it seems like it never happened so i presume i must be nailing the box closed after we talked about it.

I have been through sexual abuse myself twice, at first I didn't want any help to get over it and i just locked it away. It ended up with me trying to take my own life (that was after the second abuse). I sorely regret doing that and wish i had taken the help when it was offered. I can say tho the best way for me has been to talk about it openly especially with my girlfriend. I do believe that when it is time for you to deal with it you will know when. If you ever want to talk i will be around.
