Hi Hum, you very welcome here always no matter how sporadic.It's great to hear from you. I have no idea re the hand signal, so not much help for you on that score...i got a rubbish "gaydar"...need to have "oh yes I am" tattooed on yur forehead for me to suss!!!!
As for friendship,& not being lonely, It's certainly the way forward...I'm trying it myself...try to build on your friendships as much as possible...as one of my guru mates tells me "you can never have too many!" From this, you will find your sense of loneliness decreases & who knows where that will lead. My best move was to organise a meet when at a really low point & from that I met many wonderful ladies from this group who are now some of my closest,most treasured mates. Maybe you could do one near where you live...it's not easy, but can lead on to amazing things.

Hi Hum, depends which side of London you are ... cos there are Meets in Birmingham ... but if you're the south side of London by 40 minutes, that makes it more difficult. But if the north side of London by 40 minutes, you're nearly in Birmingham. I won't go on about East or West..... Wrong side of 40? So am I by 'a few years' !! |

Hi Hum dont feel left out in the cold this is a great room and ive been in for a number of years ive not used it much of late becouse of my personel setup with family commitments nothing more. I have made some lovely friends over the years in here and they are always here to help and chat there when your down and when your not always good to have a laugh. Humm You can always post up that you are organising ur own meet on xyz date at abc place and see who replies that they will come. That is how the Birmingham meets started and they are a great way to meet people, |

Hi Hum, ,I am wrong side of 40 too (52 if you must know but sexy and fun lovng and also lost on the bi front), how do you tell? and am scared of being embarrassed or making someone else feel awkward, I am also married to a nice man who doesnt know how to treat me - there - that honest enuf? |

| Hi Dreamer & thanks for your honesty...thats what this group is about & for me ,several years ago..I hit 40,found myself going through a nasty divorce & fell in love with a woman(straight!) that completely rocked my world. 4 years later, I've had lots of ups & downs, but I know who I am & have found this group a huge support in allowing me to grow, to learn about myself. If you need to talk,we're all here to listen. Kathy. |

Hi all ! Thanks for your advice and "sharing" . I am also 52 actually but don't feel it ( sorry about the cliche) I know that half my problem is about confidence, always has been tho' people usually think I am Super confident ! Also i do find it hard to talk about how things are affecting me altho' I worked for years in the "Mental Health field" !! I just wish I could come out and say "look i am gay and altho' i have lived my life so far as str8 i know i have lived a lie" Have sort of told my teenage daughter and altho' she had "the stroops" for several months I think she is slowly accepting it, which is absolutely marvellous. It is just so hard to make friends with people my age as most of them have kinda settled into their routines, have friends already and really don't really want to rock their boats ......sorry if that sounds a bit defeatist but ...there I go again  I'm dreading next year when my daughter leaves home to go off to Uni' (hopefully, fingers X'd) altho' part of me also knows that will be my moment of freedom.......... G*d I wish the chat room woz still open .. Thanks for listening again! |
