WOW! WHAT AN INTERESTING QUESTION! LET ME SEE...WHILE I AM MORE LIKELY TO WEAR TROUSERS,AND ELLE IS MORE LIKELY TO WEAR A SKIRT,I AM MOST DEFINITELY THE MORE "FEMME/GIRLY" WHATEVER YOU'D LIKE TO CALL ME!! I AM INTO THE ANIMAL PRINTS AND GLITTER WHICH DRIVES ELLE TO DISTRACTION! SHE ALWAYS REFERS TO ME AS HER "MISSUS",AND WOULD AGREE THAT IF THERE WAS A MALE/FEMALE THING IN OUR RELATIONSHIP,SHE'D BE MORE LIKELY TO BE THE MALE....AND YET,WE WENT OUT ON MONDAY,AND BOY-OH-BOY!!..SHE WAS ALL WOMAN!! AND,I FELT SO PROUD THAT SHE WAS WITH ME!
TO LOOK AT US,YOU'D SEE WE WERE BOTH FEMALE,WE BOTH HAVE LONG HAIR AND WE JUST BOTH LOOK LIKE GIRLS. SHE ALWAYS SAYS I AM THE SMALLER VERSION OF HER(SHE'S 6' 3" AND I'M 5' 2"). I DON'T REALLY THINK IT'S TRUE IN ALL CASES THAT THERE'S A MALE/FEMALE THING. MAYBE IT'S JUST ANOTHER STEREOTYPE?

Thats a loaded question lol Do you mean by "looks" or "personality"?? or just both in general?? Im 75% femme and 25% tomboy/girl looking ( i think anyway) and I have what some might term as more "male" interests/hobbies?? there are too many stereotypes flying around, woman are just woman, they all have something different to offer, plenty of hard femmes and gushy butches lol |

I am a femme attracted to other femmes... so I don't really seem to fit very well into your friend's rather simplistic view either!! lol Perhaps it is because masculinity is associated with dominance and femininity with submissiveness that the fundamental differences between partners have been outlined in terms of butch and femme by your friend, but I would instead suggest that the differences are more a case of dominant and submissive, as opposed to butch and femme. Sometimes, it is glaringly obvious as to which person fills the dominant/submissive role within a relationship, but in most cases it tends to be more subtly expressed. Often, the same person can be dominant in one situation and submissive in another. Anyone who's ever lived with a partner will probably know that each will form their own "domains" within the household, wherein the domain-owner's opinions will carry a greater overall weight in that area than those of their partner. Of course, this state of affairs does not merely apply in lesbian relationships. Every couple I've ever known have all displayed these sorts of behaviours... though, for most of the time, neither partner will be aware that they have a whole network of complex (although tacit) agreements in place!

well, thats is interesting, i think i am femme, cos i do act like one , but dont really wears skirts, always pants, so... what am I? half femme half butch.??? is there such thing as halves? im more attracted to young butch looking, who can sweep my feet, or even have one wild heart who could take me heart and urm,... ok i gotta stop thinking about kristy..... but i realised theres more that what the eye can see... there are people out there rather be femme and like femme girls, while other femme girls likes butch girls, and butch girls like butch girls... I've seen em... i hate sterotyping people... its soo lame yet, well let me put this way, is it better be labled or not to be labled? in all society? yet i wonder what kind of world we would live in if theres no name callings, no labeling of any kind, even sterotyping... it would be bland... boring life its seem.... kemy |

Ms Kelly Kemy I am the same I hardly ever wear skirts, no make up and hate pocketbooks. I always carry a backpack, yet I know I am not butch. I was confused to until I stated going to another group and realized yes there is another definition. A tweener neither fem nor butch. Somewhere in the middle. |
