I'm quite happy being called a dyke, and use the 'word' freely, but some lesbians take offence to the name... what about you???? love or hate.... being called a DYKE???? Jan x x x |

The word Dyke tends to be used in a derogatory sense usually, so I dont' like it myself, but if others are happy with it............well that's fine! Cathy xxx |

The word Dyke really doesn't bother me....its not my favorite but I also don't mind being called it...if that makes sense I do agree that the word Dyke tends to refer to a Butch looking woman and I'm so far from that its not funny...I love all the feminine things. I do have a male friend that also calls me Dyke and adds different things on the end. Thats ok though because its all in fun and you should hear some of the things I call him lol |

Almost all of my friends and I refer to ourselves as dykes. I much prefer dyke or gay to lesbian...lesbian just doesn't sound right when I say it. Kelsey |
