Some people can be so rude! I ended up having a few heated words with a total stranger in the middle of town today! I took my Aaron into town to get a new toy, and as i had got my great nephew in a buggy we left aaron's wheelchair at home. He did really well and walked quite some distance today, i was really proud of him. But people kept knocking him over! I don't just mean bumping into him, i mean him actually landing in a heap on the floor. Four times today it happened. I got more and more angry each time, so person number four got a real mouth full from me. I am so glad there wasn't a person number five, i think i would have lost it completely! The woman was a bit shocked when i snapped at her, but if she had acknowledged aaron laying on the floor, apologised, or offered to help him up i wouldn't have said a word about it. But she didn't, she just stared at him, gave him a dirty look and then walked on. It really annoys me, he may not walk quite as fast as most people, but he has as much right to be in town as anyone else! Which is basically what i told her! Aarrggghhhh!!!! Thanks ladies..... rant over! |

I'm not surprised you were upset, Ruth. I hope Aaron's ok now and not too many bruises. It reminded me a little of once a few years ago, before there were automatic doors everywhere. I was in the bank and Joe, who would be 5 or 6 at the time decided to open the door for everyone going in and out to see how many people said thankyou. The only person who thanked him was a lady with a double pushchair, everyone else who could have easily opened the door themselves never even noticed him! he's 14 now and he still brings this example up when adults moan about children being rude. you feel free to rant hun, they have no manners and no respect! if you teach your kids just one thing, let it be respect, then the next generation of adults wont act as above. hugs for little big man x x x |
