I have been friends with someone for nearly six yrs , i was always aware that she had negative feelings against lesbians through experiences she has had in her past (btw shes straight).

A few weeks ago i got a phone call saying not to go round and see her as she was angry as some people across the road from her had asked if my friend and i was a couple!!!. She said she didnt like the fact that people were thinking she was a lesbian and blamed me for the situation, that hurt. She phoned me up and apologised about a week later and i went round there to try and save our friendship. Everything was ok until yesterday, i went round to see her. we got talking and it ended up in a great big row. She said two women together is disgusting i said it wasnt she said i was abnormal and people like that have something wrong with there head. This comment really hurt me and i told her and she said well u know my views on it. I said to her if i had a girl friend i take it i could not bring her round here to visit with me, she said no she would not allow it. And then went as far as to say if i ever got married she would not go to the wedding as it is abnormal. She was looking me straight in the eye and getting angry when she said it.

Is she aiming her hatred at me, is that what she really thinks of me, it has churned up a lot of questions and i have come to the conclusion she is not a true friends as she can not except me for me,

just wanted yr thoughts on the situation and to get it of my chest lol

MY FIRST REACTION IS TO SAY THAT THIS WOMAN IS NOT A TRUE FRIEND.

HOW CAN ANYONE BE SO MEAN AND NARROW MINDED?

IF SHE WAS A REAL FRIEND,SHE WOULDN'T BE SO HUNG UP ON WHAT YOU DO/DON'T DO AND WHO YOU DO/DON'T DO IT WITH.

MAYBE HER OWN LIFE IS SO SAD AND BORING,SHE HAS TO BRING EVEYONE INTO HER LITTLE WORLD OF PREJUDICE?

i am sorry she is being like that woody, she is not a true friend to say things like that, if she was a true friend she would stand by you what ever your sexuality was. Take care xx

she should accept you for you not your sexuality , she is very narrow minded and im surprised your friendship has lasted this long,

Sounds like you've answered you're own questions. As you can see a lot of people have the same thought...she's not a true friend.

Its a shame really....cos you'd be there for her as a friend no matter who she was sleeping with. It's hard though as you obviously valued her as a friend prior to her expressing this.

A friend does not have to agree with your lifestyle. What she does have to do is respect your lifestyle in spite of her own feelings. I had a friend for 25 years and we are no longer friends. She denied her relationship with her girlfriend and claimed she slept on the couch. They lived together for 17 years

Thats is not the reason we aren't friends but I never liked her lying. Friends are truthful with each other. We know which friends are likely to be homophobic. What that woman did to you was uncalled for. She basically needed to mind her own business. When she said people thought she was a lesbian was either stupid gossip or her wild imagination

sorry to say this but shes not being supportive, and not aceppting u for who u are!!!

if shes hurting u that much maybe u should tell her that ur friendship is not working out because she cannot deal with u being a lesbian, but u should be civil to each other.

i know it hurts because i have had some of my friends do the same to me.

to take it from another perspective how do you know she doesnt have feelins for you and is trying to denie it to herself by aiming this hate at you and tryin to convince herself she is not quote abnormal cause at the end of the day we always hurt the nes we love most good luck to you hope you sort this out
