Hey, I'm new to all the MSN-hosted stuff although not computers or chat, etc etc. I have an adorable animated gif that I'd love to attach to my messages sometime, but I don't know how you do it. Is there a way you can program it in to be a signature without setting it up each time? I just generally want to know how you do a sig on here, really. ~ Cuddle Cuffs. |

you have to do it manualy each message either upload it into your album then copy and paste it into the message. or use the 'insert picture' icon (looks like yellow post card) and add the gif straight from your hard drive. i could make you a couple of tags if you want? have a look through the following albums and pages and copy and paste any you'd like your name added to into a reply memnbers tags (link to last page so you see newest first, work your way through 'backwards') sigs 2 hugs janx |

Cheers Jan! I had a quick browse around your site too, and it's great. Lots to look at, for sure. I'll nose around more and get a general idea, but I'm thinking that maybe I could request one if/when I get into the police... so it's like a celebration-marking thing. ~ Cuddle Cuffs. |

sure hun, and you see anything before that let me know do you know how to screen shot? you could screen shot one of your sims characters on the page where you create the character (so its a decent size to work from) and i could make that into something for you hugs janx |

Oh, Jan! I have a question. I went to a site, and grabbed all the gifs that interested me... but I've noticed since that, even though they are animated on this site and are listed to be gif files, they have saved as bitmaps. I've gone back to the site and tried to see if it lets me save as anything else, but it doesn't. http://pig_images.tripod.com/ that's the site. I had downloaded the car30.gif amongst others. It saves as a bitmap. Ideas??? There's got to be a way to have it as a gif, since it's animated on this site! ~ Cuddle Cuffs. |

i can save them as gifs from the site so it could be your computer. when you try to save, can you click the 'file type' box and change that to gif? if not, on your computer, look in your windows help for 'file association' and set it so it recognises gifs... let me know how you get on good luck hugs janx |

I typed in gifs saving as bitmaps in my search bar and it came up with a number of sites (mainly forums) where people are apparently having the same problem. Started last night when I was surfing for gifs. Out of the blue, like that. I had not changed any settings or anything. When I right clicked on an image I wanted on that link I gave ya, it would give me the option of saving only as a bitmap (nothing else to select in the scroll down bar). It was also set to untitled as the image name, no matter what image it was I clicked on. Some forum suggested solutions to my problem was to clear out my temporary files cache (which I did). No result. Another suggestion was that if it had a username/password in the web address, this could be the cause. There wasn't, but as tripod is a member site, I logged in at the tripod home page to see if this would change anything. Nothing. I have finally managed to save them as working gifs, but I had to click the actual link to the image and select to save target as. Clicking on the actual image had a greyed out save target as, so I couldn't do this from there. Weird. I shouldn't have to do this, since I have had no problems before last night. ~ Cuddle Cuffs. P.S. Now I've deleted my explorer history also, I've gotta click on every message board and message thread that I've been working so hard to read through since I've been here!!! (Coz new messages make the threads appear in bold, and they're all bold now)!! Meep! |

thats weird hun, if you can 'save target as' a 'gif' then your computer is recognising that file type, so i honestly have no idea... a member at my other site had this problem last week, but it was her new lap top wasn't set up to recognise the gif... they helped me get rid of a nasty batch of virus's, and saved my computer, they may have some idea hugs janx |
