Abit difficult for me to describe this "band" but i bought the album cd last weekend.. Its called just the title... "scissor sisters",and i have been listening to it since. Its great to see something different visually and their sound, well, i wouldent describe it as being cutting edge, though how they have fused the sounds of so many big artists over say the last 30 years or so together is amazing...its like listening to Bowie then something like a bugsy malone musical! and then Bolan and then Frankie with just disco beats etc.. you feel like you have heard the sound somewhere before from another artist..its really great..they are quite camp and this makes it more entertaining! and some of the lyrics are quite silly too. they are supporting duran duran at some point in their tour in April along with goldfrapp..i would go only for the scissor sisters though! you may like this,really...but its the type of sound one has to adjust their ear to!?? well i did! |

i thought i'd gone mad when i first heard this band! i was pottering around, cleaning up, while they played on CD:UK, and i found myself singing along to the words with them... i knew for a fact i hadn't ever heard them!!!! i stopped, sat down, and concentrated on exactly what i was singing, and OMG... it was pink floyd's comfortably numb!!!! it was ages before i worked it out, it sounded so different... my judgements still reserved on this one..... hugs janx |

in the song, "comfortably numb",i love the lyric.."my hands swelled like two balloons".. just got a text message from a friend saying they got the CD album today, they are listening to it, one orther person who has this album anyway, they like it to. on their website you can find out when their telly appearances are, i dont think the latest vid for "take your mama" is much good though.Their album came straight in at number 10 this week which i find odd as i bought it a few weeks ago. |

scissor sisters where on jools holland tonight (friday night), they did "take your mama" and "laura" ,they where very good, i dont know what the audience made of it all, the lead singer Jake Shears reminds me of country boy all dressed up mighty fine!...i missed the the last 15 mins so i hope they didnt do anymore songs. |

Jake Shears reminds me of country boy all dressed up mighty fine! lol, they are a strange looking pair.... they have always looked kinda hyper whenever i've seen them on stage, so i'm guessing their target audience isn't teenage pop? i suppose they are an aquired taste lol |

they do look hyper on stage, the way ana matronic looks at shears.. i have read an interview with them in Q magazine and i always knew what "scissor sisters"meant..its slang)) but anyway "take your mama" is about coming out to your mother. i have read the lyrics to that song and always thought it was about something else, but im not saying what it is here, prefer not to. but anyway Jake Shears say these people made the scissor sisters what they are today.... richard o'brien paul williams (70s songwriter, he wrote songs for streisand and the carpenters and also wrote the bugsy malone soundtrack.(.i always thought the scissor sisters had that influence in their music) david bowie david cronenberg sandra bernhard jane fonda jim henson the sisters have sold more albums than some care to realise now , oh well. |

I bought their CD album "scissor sisters remixed" the other week. Nine tracks and mainly remixes of "comfortably numb" and "filthy gorgous" and a few odd one's..The " filthy gorgous" extended mix) is brilliant. Does anyone in Ltil like Scissor Sisters ???? they are sooo popular...I love them. Scissor Sisters |
