She was definitely mad...but she spoke with honesty. How could anyone throw there child out into the snow? It was probably because her brother was the father of the baby? So what do her parents do but throw the poor child out..She must have been terrified. The system definitely let her down.. Suzie x |

I remember reading about this in here and this documentary was on a few weeks ago here in the UK. I missed something like the first hour or so ,so I cannot make any judgement about it. Amazing though to watch. I think its the one where they actually came in to death row and interviewed Aileen?? I was so taken aback when she just turned and showed her anger to the camera during an interview. Frightening. I still havent watched the movie "Monster" , but I will...though I wonder what Aileen would have thought of this movie..?? |

I have done so much research on aileen it a tragedy what happened to her i saw the documentary ms kelly was talking about and it was amazing how she just snapped like that. She was such a calm an i would have to say slightly desturbed women. Wow when the interviewer, i forget his name, i think it was dave or summin. But when he said her mother wanted to be forgiven or something she went mad i was a little freaked myself. The movie really does put an amazing light on the subject. I found tho that they only showed aileen from just before the murders, they didn't really portray her life as bad much, ok prostitution is pretty bad, and when she started killing it was self defense, so yes the system did let her down. She was a brilliant women who tried to fight and the system won, they kept their heads up as she was taken down. Makes me sad to think about it.

I think that must have been the documentry I watched that you have mentioned in post number 5. I read online abit about Aileen a few days ago. She was described at the time of the trial as being, "Americas biggest female serial killer ever" but then went on to state this is just an exaggeration on the media's part, there has been many American female killers. I will have to watch "Monster" and would like to see the documentry again and compare the two. |

With regards to post number 8 , when I searched online and found pictures, I agree, I too found the likeness really good. Charlie Therzon I believe had to gain weight to play Aileen. This is good character acting. I remember the movie "boys don't cry" with Hilary Swank ,who won an oscar too ,like Charlie. Hilary really changed everything about herself to play Teena Brandon. Alot of actresses today in Hollywood I think are abit afraid to do this. I look forward to watching "Monster". thanks for the replies. |
