there's that old joke about everything in the USA being bigger and better than anywhere else, the UK included...
well american TV programs are bigger and better!!!
right through the summer holidays channel4 has filled each morning with 3 hours of brilliant 'american' entertainment. ED, the bowling alley lawyer, ER, who doesn't love ER, and THIRD WATCH, new yorks emergency services battling to keep the streets safe.
and now the holidays are over, the entertainment starts earlier, 8am, SCRUBS, a comical take on emergency room doctors, followed by EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND, a disfunctional family and thier inlaws, thier antics hillarious, then NIKKI, well, what can we say about nikki but 'WOW' i'm quite happy to wake up with nikki every morning lol.
my only problem with all this early morning entertainment is finding excuses to linger so long over breakfast so as not to miss any of it!
and now thanks to living tv, we have the L WORD, who but america could have brought us that little gem!
what with classics like FRIENDS, SEX AND THE CITY, WILL AND GRACE, ANGEL, BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, and then new additions to the 'all american greats' such as 24, DARK ANGEL.
and how many more great USA shows that i've never even heard of?
why are the USA getting it so right? and british TV dragging so lamely behind?
WE LOVE AMERICAN TV!!!!!!!!!
