"V" the series does anyone remember that american sci -fi series from the 1980s with mark singer in it and it was about what we thought were humans but turned out to be reptiles underneath and they wanted all human life for food and all our water supply. It was quite politcal in some moments ,comparing the alien,"visiters" to a dictatorship... I have a comic of this and at one point wanted the book but i found out they made lots of books on it,so i decided not to bother. I remember watching this and i must have only been about 11 or 12 i think, i had a big crush on the doctor in it called Julie lol did anyone watch it and like it?? thankyou. |

OMG I loved V ! I was only a kid when it came out... probably about the same age as you Ms Kelly and it freaked the hell out of me but I was still hooked from the first episode. Mind you it had a similar impact on everyone as when The X Files first came out as it was something that had never really been done with such cabre in a mini series before. Up until then it was all the Generation Game, Dallas and Dynasty and polystyrene props on Star Trek. The closest we got around that time which was something more imaginative was Knight Rider. I remember fancing Diana (the dark haired alien with big hair and bright red lip-gloss) however that was until I saw her unhook her jaw and swallow a live mouse! *eeeeeeuuuuu!* Somehow her appeal kinda dwindled after that.....dunno what could have put me off! lol About 7 years ago they repeated the whole series on Channel 5 and I watched every one except for me being dumb enough to trust my ex to tape the final episode for me while I was working shifts and the tape ended 20 minutes before the end of the series! My bunny was sooooo not impressed that night! Thanks for the nostalgia Ms Kelly....it's been fun! Hugs Magi x x x |

thanks for the reply sacredmagdelane, I was thinking about buying the series on dvd, but im in 2 minds about it. It was so exciting when it was on. I remember when diana swallowed the rat! Her jaw just expanded! I remember when she was trying to brainwash Julie on the spacecraft. I wanted to save Julie. I had such a big thing for her lol I watched it when it was repeated, So addictive anyone else here remember the sci-fi series called "V"?? thanks |

lol i remember, and loved V aswell! i've come accross a few programs i loved as a kid, remember finding them scary, or exciting, but now, watching them as an adult, they seem to have lost the sparkle?!? maybe it went with our innocence? or maybe we just expect more now? maybe V could be the exception to this, but maybe it's safer to stick with the fond memories, don't dash them by buying the series lol what was the newer alien program where the aliens had bald heads? the cop in the lead roll had an alien partner and girlfriend, and the aliens got drunk on sour milk? |

I was flicking through the channels just a few days ago and came across 'V '. It was up to the bit were Robin goes wandering out the secret hideout and ends up being transported to the Mothership. Don't know if there's plans to show anymore of the series. couldn't find any info about it. When I was watching it the other night though ..I still had a soft spot for the Doctor called Julie, I could feel myself going all doe eyed watching her and having that same feeling again... I guess some crushes always stay with you and make you feel the same all over again... It's worth watching, it's a great little series. Ms K |
