ok, not gonna explain what the boards for, think you'll work that one out. other messages suggest that i'm not the only 30 something juvenile that looses hours of daylight playing the simms, or resident evil, silent hill, lol so want to talk about a game you like? do it here wanna brag about all the games you clocked, do it here (and it had better be good, i've got quite a few clocked games under my belt, pmsl) wanna get or give hints, tips and cheats? or even wanna have a go at writing a walk through (well you never know, stranger things have happened, lol) so what games you got? what console are they on? and just how damn good are you pmsl hugs janx |

dee, thought youd mentioned matching walls and floors in this thread, but it was in the email wasnt it? anyway, i have matched them up, i'll sort out a way to get them to you. i looked on this PC, for my own simms game, and it looks like one of us has deleted it after installing unleashed on the other puter but i'll work something out hun luv jan x x x x ms kelly..... lmao now you've got a conversation going, lmao resident evil, veronica!!!! me and caz spent the day playing in hers... we got to the military base, did the bit where the worm comes up.... then i went home..... now caz has had a few plays since then, and she's stuck, lmao..... we need this lock pick???? dont suppose you've seen it, lmao... it's always something real stupid, i miss these things myself when i'm playing.... so we need to sort out a date and continue our game.... we weere doing so well as a team, lmao.... now on a previous date, we started alone in the dark 4, and again, as a team, we were doing great, then we hit a hallway with 3 great hulking monsters, and after about the 20th attempt, we gave up on trying to pass through the hallway (and we do have the walkthrough for alone in the dark, lmao) ok, lara, lol, i got to number 3 or 4, then gave up, lol, but i have completed the ones i have.... but even now, when i put the first or second game on, i can't remember where anything is, or what to do... it all starts to blur together, all of the first 3 games, till i can't tell one from the other, lol but liking lara, not as much as resident evil, thats my all time fave.... loved silent hill to death! completed the first one, and if you finish it 3 (or could be 5) times, and collect these alien stones, you get this ultra destructive lazer gun to start the game with, lmao, so cool, nothing can stand against you, lol... and..... i have the game where i've won the gun saved, (play station?) so if thats what console your playing it on MK, if we ever meet, i'll lend you my memory card to copy the save onto yours, trust me, you'll love this gun, pmsl i just bought silent hill 2 for the PS2, but gave it to larry for his birthday, (foolish woman, lol) but i did have a play, and its a spooky as number 1, and the 'making of the game' disc is brilliant, shows all the teams of actors, animators, designers, musicians, and about 20 other teams, who were all involved in the making.... it was great to watch! and i'm thinking...... silent hill the movie?!?!?! watch this space, i dont think its far off...... know what you mean about the dreamcast graphics.... i have one sat there, but i'm having problems finding the kind of games i like for it.... (i mean second hand, it seems silly to pay more than a fiver for a dreamcast game when i can get PS2 for a tenner up) so not had alot of experience with the dreamcast, i think my soul reaver is dreamcast, (just bought that for PS2,LOL) and loved the game, brilliant! its like lara, ressy evil, but with magic spells aswell as fight mode, if your looking for a good challenge, i'd get that next.... right, lol, trying to answer everything you posted here, so bear with me, lol duke nukem.... now i played this 10/12 years ago on my old PC, lol, but did enjoy the game, i've seen it on ps1, is it good??? max payne, no idea hunny? i tried to do the same as you, hold out for the next biggest console to come out, and thats why i refused to play on mates PS2's, cos i knew i'd get hooked, lol, and i did, lmao, one day of resident evil and it had me, lmao i payed £95 for my ps 2, they gone down so much in price now! on london road cash converters. they do the games aswell for a tenner and up, (to £20) got a good selection.... i reccon they'll drop in price once more, before xmas, £80-85, then go back up to£100+ about november, (i'm a regular cash converters customer, i know these things, pmsl) anyway, think i got all my replies in, lol 2 games to menton before i end... devil may cry.... only had a quick go, but its like nothing i've ever played! its made by the makers of resident evil and dino crisis, (dino crisis, thats another great buy, numbers one or two, you'd like them) and while its the fight, collect, solve format, there's so many possibilities in the game play, and the camera angles and shots are superb.... i'll have to do a review of this game in a new thread, it deserves one, lol warriors of might and magic...... again, ressy evil format, fight, collect, solve... but again you get to weild magic, and have to second guess your enimies to work out what armour, weapons, rings and amulets to keep.... i gave this one to larry, but it's finding its way back to ours near every day, pmsl and hunny, you talk about anything you want here! there is always someone who will have that 'whatever' in common with you.... i do have a gadget manic side myself, lol, but lack of space keeps me from going to mad, but i dare say i'll have to admit to a few things you post about, lmao still add it to this section, but start a new thread and use the title to explain the subject... then any other interested members will see it. and thank you for reading, and for the great reply, its great when you meet someone else who can appreciate your eccentricities, lol hugs janx |

im ready to know what to say,so im here again! im so pleased with this topic...you have gamed alot! i would just like to mention my sega consoles here. i first bought the gamegear back in august 1993.i still have the receipt! lol,it included the game columns which didnt excite me and later swapped it for a grand prix game. i love the gamegear.i thought it was wonderful the way in which a whole range of products had been designed for it,one was able to buy a tv tuner and watch tv from it, though i can imagine getting a picture would have been difficult! i have with not much success been able to buy one off the net but realise now that we are among the digital age... the thought of this working in 32 bit colour as a tv seems a tall order..it would be lovely to have one though anyway.just to see what it would be like, a car adaptor was available and you could as play head to head via a cable with another gamegear player which could only increase the social activity,as the game gear did not work via a tv set,so you can understand the social exclusion here. If im correct in thinking you could also buy later on a pack that was slotted in to the back of the gamegear and one was able to play master system games which where 8bit but they have there charm..i found it odd i was able to play super tennis fine on the master system but andre aggasi tennis on the megadrive was which was 16bit and which i considered far more superior was a let down.in general i dislike the crude design of the graphics in some megadrive games. i loved sonic on the gamegear and did you know that when you dont move sonic for a few seconds he looks at you with an annoyed look and drums his fingers? which in some ways is used today.like claire redfield.hand on her hip,its keeping that same format...i think sonic dates back to the 50s? from japan and was based abit on corgi the cat !! loved the terminator, and having to rescue sarah conner and kill the cyborg,i loved the city level, you kept seeing the same car go past lol and i loved the detail and the music is quite atmospheric, its a shame there was no dialogue here. lemmings was a brilliant game i finished completing and wrote down all the codes as i completed them too,you have to build bridges and dig etc to get these little lemmings across to safety, the music was mindbending and time would be running out, so frustrating! i hold my gamegear with affection as the plastic around the left direction pad has cracked and come away with the pressure of my thumb pressing to hard! and the volume is muffled to now ,but i know i had so many hours and hours of pure fun with it,its mine forever lol i am interested in what you said about the making off silent hill...was the characters based on real actors actresses and does it mention the all important music,i read its better that game then a b movie horrer flick! lol i have it only on the ps1 as it was not available on the dreamcast i think, thankyou for saying you would lend me the save.. i will keep this in mind..the big gun! im interested as to what pc you played duke nukem on? was it a 166 ?? i always drift back to duke, he can even pick up ego boosters and dont let his drop to zero LOL i will have to write some of the story about duke ,its just funny.. "hail to the king!" i will have to end here as i could go on and on.. plenty to say...have to talk of my gadgets later on sorry. thankyou for reading. what games do you have for the dreamcast? that was out before the ps1 and stopped production "apparently" in 2001.. |

I have jsut come in again to read if this makes sense and i made two mistakes in haste...sonic was based on a fusion of felix the cat and micky mouse...i was thinking of corgi at the time! and the last line..sony created two playstations, the psx was born before the dreamcast and then the ps1 after that,,,im know im correct?... thankyou.:) |

thanx lindy, wish i'd noticed your message a few weeks ago, lol hi hicky, welcome to the group i'm playing sims on the PS2 at the moment, a bit strange to start with, but love the 2 player game and the missions. i'm missing being able to build while theres space, lol, theres a limit to building and buying on this game, and only 1 fllor to the buildings, oh, and no pets, lol, but still a great version, i'll buy the next one that they release on PS2 hugs to all janx |

Yeah, the building limit is annoying on the playstation. Did you know that there is a new PC version to come out soon? Unlike the current one, the sims actually grow up. No more killing them off to make room! can't wait!!!!! |

Hi all, I'm new to the group so I'm really thrilled to find that some of you here are into gaming. I'm obsessed... PS2, Gamecube, PC... I'm drawing the line at getting an X-box. What's anybody playing at the moment? I'm re-playing Final Fantasy X on the PS2, in preparation for the sequel this month. Couldn't be more excited about The Sims 2 coming out on PC!! Is anyone here into RPGs? Sara |

MsK think we all turn into nerds when we turn the console on, lol, i could talk 'sims' for hours! not seen xiii yet.... so you've been making music? lol, our lisa has me in stitches with the dance mat i bought for her... thats about as close to 'music' as our console gets... hi sara, glad you found the games board! since buying the ps2 i'm playing several games at once.. sims 2, devil may cry 2, lord of the rings, dynasty warriors 3, to name but a few! i used to buy a game, play it till i'd finished it, then buy another! but i keep finding so many 'bargains' for the ps2, i just have to buy them, then can't help but play.... role play? such as? i've played the broken sword series on ps1, home alone's on ps1 and pc, but i kinda like my resident evils, silent hills, etc... i've also played 'diablo' online, loved that! the idea of competing against, or with, other 'real' players... i keep meaning to check out that everquest... i made a few tags for someone who plays online, but never get round to checking it out... anyway, if you can tear yourself away from the consoles, lol, come say hi to us again also, love to see any sims pics you have, you can upload them here hugs to all janx |

I'm breaking this down into topics to make it easier to read (and skip). SILENT HILL Jan, I bought Silent Hill 2: Director's Cut after I had bought and completed the standard edition in the cardboard packaging. With the director's cut, you get to play as Maria in an extra scenario. You start at the Heaven's Night bar. You own this? Worth owning only if you are a fan. The extra game is pretty short. Silent Hill 3 almost marked the first game that had an earlier release date in the UK than in the US!!! I'm talking months! It was so cool, because my American ex-boyf was bragging about the reviews and screenshots about the game in a magazine. And when I got it here first, I felt smugly satisfied! :) It's annoying that games are generally released first in America, but if you see the extras discs and special packaging they issue our games with, we've won hands down! An example of this is the sequal to: FINAL FANTASY X Again, the extras disc with this is cool. The American release didn't have this, according to my ex-boyf. The European release of the much awaited sequel, Final Fantasy X-2, is also bigger, and was deliberately delayed to give us extra stuff! Coz us Europeans are serious gamers, man! ;) Want proof? Just look at the EUROPEAN EXTREME difficulty setting they put with Metal Gear Solid 2's European release!!! The States' release only went up to 'EXTREME'. RESIDENT EVIL: CODE VERONICA This game marked the release of the most Resident Evil related merchandise from Hong Kong ever. (I own most of it)! ;) The fully articulate polygonal environments were all very impressive... at first. Eventually, I found myself longing for the static camera shots that added so much fear into the game, due to the fact that we couldn't bloody see where we wanted to see! And this is exactly what we see in horror films -- the camera angles that the director wants us to see to fully feel the fear they wish to portray. This is what the creator intended, and I think he risked a lot with CV. Also, what's with the incest theme??? Code Veroncia is actually my least favorite of the Resident Evil series, next to Resident Evil: Zero on the Gamecube. (The REMAKE of the first Resident Evil game on the Gamecube has to be the BEST Resident Evil game in the series now; but the first was always the one that started that great storyline they've only built on). Was I the only one obsessed with the series enough to notice that they used the same voice actor for Claire in CV as they did for the Claire in Resident Evil 2 on the PSX? Why, I'd know that lisp anywhere! :) CV also had these very phallic looking monsters that... disturbed me. DEVIL MAY CRY Hands up if you wouldn't rock Dante's bones... I knew I wouldn't see any hands! He's an attractive guy, with gorgeous eyes, white hair, and twin guns that are aptly named, 'Ebony' and 'Ivory'. Love it. Love it. My favorite feature in this game is the fact that it's just so hack 'n' slash I almost choked! The graphics are awesome. Those shadow cat beasts are incredible! The free-rotating, free-roaming polygonal environments are a joy to jump around in. And boy did I jump around! I bounced off walls; rolled around the ground; fired my guns in the air for the sheer hell of it just to see the enjoyable slow-mo free-fall... I loved the ability to power-up and choose what you would like to power-up on. You do this by collecting orbs; and the good news, people, is that you get these orbs by hacking and slashing everything you come across, and I mean everything... "DIE TABLE!!! DIE BARRELS!!!" Yes, even furniture can be hiding red orbs. Don't try this at home. You're likely to find only dirty magazines. Well, I'm a big survival horror fan, and I see that some others here are, so here's one for you guys that I think shouldn't be missed, and it's scaring so much that I can't actually continue with it. PROJECT ZERO (or 'Fatal Frame' in America) This is a game that has been so overlooked, because the publicity and marketing was crap, to say the least. You need to get it because the concept is so refreshing, and I have to say that the 'atmosphere' in this is incredibly disturbing, and in some ways more disturbing than the Silent Hill games. This is a large boast, I know. But I think you will agree. Firstly, there is no loading time between entering and exiting a room. You just walk straight through the doors and the game will carry on. Let's backtrack a little to tell you what it's about. It's set in Japan (I think), and it's got a traditional Japanese feel. You are a Japanese schoolgirl who has gone to a place where her journalist brother disapeared. He was under the tutoring of some guy. Words cannot convey how spooky this place is. It's traditional Japanese design, like those ornate houses you see in Samurai films, but it's very run-down and derelict. You are armed with nothing. I repeat, NOTHING! That is, until you find your brother's old-fashioned camera hat was passed down to him. You find out pretty quickly that the camera 'detects' things around you. When your controller starts vibrating, and you see an orange light at the lower right of your screen to symbolize 'activity', LOOK THROUGH THE CAMERA! LOOK THROUG IT NOW!!!! You will see a ghost, and the only way to make it disappear is to 'flash' it and capture it's imagine. Depending on the ghost's power, you may need to flash it several times. Or if you load a higher exposure film into the camera (this game's equivalent of better ammo) it will take less shots. The ghosts are amazingly disturbing, with some of them coming towards you backwards with dislocated necks and hollow eyes staring at you. Words cannot describe how chilling it is how these ghosts have been done. They look so unmoving, yet you soon find they are right up in your viewfinder, and this is really creeping me out! How do they do this??!! The part I cannot physically make myself conquer is the ghost of a child that is too fast for me to see, and I get creeped out by it's laughter. If there's one thing I can't stand in horrors, that's demonic children and their laughter. I also don't have any health left and it's just too quick for me. I should have been more conservative with my health, methinks. This game's made me panic way too much more than it should, and I've been flashing like a crazy person!! (The camera that is). I'm out of breath, so I'll leave it here. I could talk about computers all day. If I think of anything else, I'll be back. ;) And yes, Sara, I love RPGs. I don't know if you mean table-top gaming or computer RPG's, but I'm into both. ~ Cuddle Cuffs. |
