Read about this some time back in my gadget magazine. Looks set for release in Europe around the end of next year..Don't know much about it's spec at present but I assume it will be backward compatible and have a big hard drive. It's the controls that I find interesting..I think this must just be a prototype/crude design but the more I have read this is what the handset will look like. Can't imagine a handset like this catching on, the public is very used to the ps and xbox type handsets now..see what happens. Interesting.. Main Controller Features - 3D Pointing. Sensors understand up, down, left, right, forward and backward.
- Tilt Sensitive. Controller can be rotated or rolled from side-to-side.
- Buttons Included. Has a trigger on its backside, face buttons, and a D-Pad.
- Multifunctional. Has an expansion port which can be used with different types of controller peripherals. Analog stick with two trigger buttons planned for left hand.
- Wireless. Totally wire-free. Currently there are no details on the max distance, source or power, or otherwise.
- Rumble Built-in. Included as a standard in all the controllers.

I'll only be buying this Nintendo Revolution (as well as the long-awaited PS3) because it's the next generation in Nintendo console and I like to keep modern with technology. It's got full backwards compatibility for my Resident Evil Gamecube games, so this is the main reason why I would be buying it, as I'm not a big Nintendo fan and they secured the right to release Resident Evil titles when they had the Gamecube. I only own Resident Evil games for Nintendo. Nothing else. |

P.S. I think the blue LED strip looks much more fetching on the black console colour option. |

It does look good ...... tho im a playstation fan and cant wait for the ps3 to hit the shops ... looking at the others specs ps3 will remain backward combalitly (ps1 to ps 2 is that already) and hope they will have wireless capabilities as well as updated graphics etc. |

It's good to see Nintendo enter the gaming market and trying to make a bigger impact. I do think the backward compatibility is always attractive to gamers. thanks for replies. |

I didn't buy a Wii though I bought a Nintendo ds lite just a few weeks ago. It's great. I have the 42 games in 1 that came 'free' with it. I have Splinter Cell from the gba that can work with it,atleast they created the lite with some backward compatibility. Ms K |

Loving my DS lite and Splinter Cell. It's reminds me so much of the Sega Gamegear. I liked that handheld so much! still have it. I bought Brain Academy for it too. This is clever. Knows when you last played it! The Wii has outsold PS3 and Xbox 360 from what I've read. Ms K |

I think you can get some sort of wrist strap to stop it flying out of your hand when playing the games Caz. Plus I think there's damage to a person's arm if playing the games too much.. Still liking my ds lite. Stuck on a level in Splinter Cell but will get through it. It's an old game but it's a classic. Ms K |

I haven't completed Splinter Cell on the xbox. Caz ,I was in training mode etc but just didn't get round to really completing it though I will..I do have more of them such as Pandora Tommorow. Though I do favour handheld games more. I have got off the bit I was stuck on and now on the abattoir 2 on the dslite. I really like the whole concept of Spinter Cell games. The Wii pronounced..we..is meant to be universal to all and ii stands for people being together... Ms K |
