i've already explained this somewhere on the boards, but it's well lost now, so thought i'd also put it here on the tips and tricks board, for anyone who wants to do this. once i had set up WAP on my mobile, i tried to get onto the site, but couldn't even get onto MSN, but eventually, i found a way of using the message boards from my mobile. it takes a bit of setting up, but here goes. 1>> first of all, set up a 'yahoo' email account. 2>> now make a new MSN passport, (not hotmail account, just a passport. from the 'my groups' page, sign out of your usual passport, then click to sign back in, but instead of signing in, click, 'create a new passport') 3>> when asked for an email address for your new passport, use the 'yahoo' email address you have just set up. (now, when prompted to sign in to your new passport, you type in the yahoo email address, instead of the usual @hotmail) 4>> so, now you are signed in to your new passport with the yahoo email address, come to late to it lesbians and apply to join. let me know its you (a quick message) and we'll get you in quicker. (it's a good idea to use a nickname like 'yourname_mobile' so you don't confuse the accounts) 5>> when you have been accepted, come into the site and click the 'members tools' link, (its right at the bottom of the navigation bar on the left of the screen) 6>> then click 'check your email settings' 7>> scroll down to 'messages' and select to have 'all messages sent to your inbox' 8>> scroll down to 'e-mail preference' and select 'text only' 9>> now save the changes. and thats just about it. get online with your mobile, go to www.yahoo.com and sign yourself in, select 'yahoo mail' and from the inbox you can read each message as it is posted on the boards. to reply to a message already posted, just find the menu option on your mobile, ((on mine, i press the options button, and scroll down to the word menu, select that, then scroll down to reply)) and select 'reply' to that message/email, and your reply will go directly to the boards. to start a new message thread, 1>> go to 'compose a new message' 2>> write in this email address for the boards 3>> write the title for your message as the emails title 4>> then tap in your message and send it can take quite some time to write a message via your mobile, so i advise you keep them short, lol remember to empty your yahoo email inbox as often as you can. we can get up to 300 messages on some days, and every one of them goes to your yahoo inbox. it's a good idea to delete all the messages in your inbox after you've checked the boards online, then anything in the inbox is new to you. the first few messages that i sent from my mobile to the boards took hours to arrive, but now they seem to get there pretty quickly. and if MSN are not working up to speed, you may not get new messages on the boards as they arrive. by doing this, your phone number is NOT revealed anywhere, so don't worry about that. so, thats how to join in on the boards from your mobile. good luck give me a shout if you need any more help hugs janx |

thats how you can get photo's from your phone on to the net then, or one way anyway lol if your phone can hook straight up to you computer to load ringtones etc, then you can put photo's from your phone, onto your computer, then upload them from the computer to the net, ((in theory anyway lol)) if you want free ringtones for your mobile msK let me know, our lisa goes to a site where the poly tones are brilliant. hugs janx |
