G'day people and Happy New Year ...
Maybe we can start 2002 off with some "new" old photos on the web site ...
If you happen to be visiting your parent's house maybe it is time to raid the attic ...
Those of your from the early 80's we don't have a Group School Photo from 1978-84, it would be great if we could bridge that gap ...

Sadly I have none from the school - didn't have a camera back then ... Come on you bandits (espically from Class of '90) have a search around and see what you can find and post ... Mike PS Nice photos Ruth - Kim Monaghan with long hair and in a 'MegaDeath' T-shirt - who would have ever thought!! When you get a chance can you add names to all the photos - I known you've done most of them but it helps me a bit to place people... |

Some of you may have noticed that the all the photos on the site have been tempory lost .... I hope MSN sort this out ... and that they haven't lost them a ll for good ! I think I have some of these photos on my PC but I know I don't have them all - I don't supose someone who was being rather strange backed all the photos up ??? maybe you have some of these pics stored in your temp internet folder (mine was emptied but a few days ago ...) If we ever get these pics back on line i think i may go to the effort of backing them up this time - who would have thought MSN would have lost them all ... maybe it is a sneaky plan to free countless GB on free disk space !! hello anyone out there .... ??? |

Blakey, Let's hope the picture problem is just a case of MSN needing to reindex the picture files. Here is a link to all my Quantock/Cotham pictures, do what you want with them, some you won't understand but copy any you want. Laurie 01453-750395 Home No work number at present. I've been sacked, given the push, shown the door, asked to leave, taken early retirement, resting between jobs, finding myself,Etc.

Laurie, Nice photos you posted recently (on behalf of Warwick?) - there are some really nice ones. I found particularly interesting the one take before the patio block was built or even the little gym (aka the new dinning room, aka new chapel etc) or are my angles all wrong: Also it was interesting to see photo of inside the snooker room (later replaced with the new kitchen complex) - in my day these were just derelict rooms full of junk!! Also there is a picture taken from the top corridor looking down towards the gardens - there are very few pictures taken from the top corridor ... almost looks surreal to me as I have been unable to get back up there on the few times I've been back to the school | 1968 68QuantockRearFromTopCorridor.JPG | I guess we might never know what this guarded, the biggest collection of 'art pamphlets' in Quantock History???? Hi Mike, Yep, Warick Jones posted a cd to me just before Xmas, with 50 pics on it. It took a long time to get to me as the bomb squad with the aviation security thought it was a bomb so they deceided to open it up etc. You have got all the angles correct on the 1968 Back door area picture. This picture was before all the things you mention were built. I love Warick's private sign, you'll have to ask him what "Dark Secrets" lay behind that door. A big thanks must go to Warick for sending us these pictures. Laurie |

Major, Thanks for putting them on the site - The pictures of the old old dinning room have me scratching my head. To me this room looks like the room next to what was the library, but that arch in the background in the Xmas 1967 picture has me a bit confused perhaps is it window? If it is indeed the annex (as it was known in my day) then the school really has gone full circle. At the first big reunion we had our dinner in this room. Also anything look familiar about these two photos: Maybe not the same angle but the same idea!! The first Quantock photo and the last. I guess you never know maybe like the phoenix we might see the school spring from its ashes yet??? |

Hi Mike, Very weird the first and last group picture (the shape of things to come ?). When you say about the school starting again. I was at Quantock last summer when Matron had loads of children staying on one of the school adventure things. It was brill to see the place swarming with children and the dorms being used again. Some kids were running down the corridor I just wanted to shout at them "No Running !!". I am totally confused about the 1967 Xmas dinner pics as I don't know the room (but I should know the room !!). Is it the one next to the library ?. Come on Warwick tell us please. I'll buy you a tube of lager at the next reunion. My dining room was where we now have breakfast on mini reunions. Laurie |
