Cleansing the Temple

This text was condensed from a Kellog_Bluff discussion on difficulties A Reader experienced after working with a Sitter (who recently almost Passed.) Primary point of discussion was the "crud" and the "dirty feeling" the Reader obtained immediately after the Reading session. This text addresses how to identify the problems inherent in this type of session, and what to do about them.

When someone almost dies...but doesn't, and then they want a Read...ya take a doan's pill for the butt ache you're gonna get from Reading them. This is simple Spirit Law;  'almost-croaking' brings up all the spittle on the griddle.  And then, you (the Reader) slew thru it...like a short order cook on her way ta the end of the shift. Get the drift?

You feel it in the physical, because you did the reading in the physical.  You did not shield properly. This Sitter almost croaked awhile back, and now her energy is strong. You have to take this into consideration when you attach your "eyes" to her energy. This is why I always suggest detachment, even for Readers, if you're gonna read the croaker-ettes.

It's not that your technique is necessarily bad...it's that your expectation is very high.  So your performance level has to be - also - high. You can't be sloppy anywhere - when ya read. Protocol includes how ya approach a Read.

Here is a quickie explanation of what "Blow Back" is: In trying to do a 'healing' (without using protection), you can "absorb" emotions that are not your own, but belong to the sitter. When clearing on a Read, Consider this picture:

You have a hose. You want to put water down a pipe. The hose is on one side, pipe on other. You ignore the bib size of both. You pick up the hose, turn the water on. Then you put the hose mouth against the pipe opening. If your lucky -- both openings fit - and you don't get wet. If not - you get wet. Either way - water spills - doesn't get down pipe completely. (End picture)

The protocol for deflection must include ALL of the following: (a) the type of element to be moved, (b) the receiver, and (c) the method of tooling. For tooling, Sage & water are fine. You also should consider the elements to be deflected. In case of a croaker -or wanna-be, this person will cause a lot of emotions to be dredged up. Anger, resentment, and pain; Righteousness, and the feeling of all those "things I wanted to say/do/feel". When a person almost croaks, all this crude bubbles to surface.

And when you read - you get a taste of it. So, in "Cleansing the Temple", you're cleaning the grease off the grille

Act accordingly. Where you may have erred, is assuming that a person as "good" as (name deleted) - would not have sludge.

We all have sludge.

Protocol dictates if you get involved in Reading at a Pro level - you Clear at a Pro level. Else - you get empathic pain. If you were Wiccan - you would be doing a Grounding ritual. Remember something important, dear. You are not a beginner any more. Ya can't See Kansas; and at this level, "should not" means Do Not.

Whenever you Read, make sure ta take time ta Clear.  If you don't have that time, don't Read. One comes with the other.

So - we wanna get rid of the pain, right? Here is a generic clearing ritual. (If it smells like Wicca - tastes like Wicca...)

Ok - ya got sage, ya got water. Ya got your altar. ok - now ya need three candles. Place in a triangle formation, set the candles in tripods if available; one outside left - one outside right, one in center. Center candle should be the tallest, or fattest. Color of Candles can be either black or white. If ya have Purple or blue, that would be nice. Outside candles can be purple or blue; inside is white. Get a flask or container of water on altar. Need a small container of salt. Get Sage (or alternative according to your belief) and prepare in a smoke wrap. I'll give ya the sequence. Do the Cleansing Ritual naked (sans clothing) if possible.

Here we go.

Empty the room. Make no sound while preparing. Repeat: Make no sound while preparing. Turn radio /TV off. When ready - approach your altar. (sans clothes). Light your candles.

As you light candles - recite your normal affirmation (if you have one.) Then light your sage. Recite the following (call it #1): "I ask the Goddess to purge my Temple of any waste, as i do Spirit's bidding." Hold your left hand over sage, get the scent on left hand. Recite (#1) above again.

Place your left hand on your chest. Recite (#1) above again.

With a snapping motion - throw your right hand down to the floor - as though your were throwing water off your hand. Recite the following (call it #2) " I allow the waste to depart, oh Goddess." With your left hand, touch the salt on your altar. Then touch your chest with the left hand; again recite the second (#2) affirmation. Repeat the snap motion, recite (#2) affirmation.

Finally, with your left hand, touch the water on the altar - then touch your forehead --- saying "Blessed is the Temple - oh thanks given to you Goddess." Repeat this twice more (doing a total of three times.)

Then finish by saying your normal affirmation, and clean up your altar. You can preface this ritual with meditation if you choose.

This is called "cleansing the temple".

Done after a brush with demons, or Readings. If you have a healing wand --- it can be used in lieu of salt. The simplest things usually work fine. It is your Intent that is important --- when doing rituals. This is ceremonial magick, and should be done with seriousness if you want it to "take".

Blessed Be
