 Members,                                                                                                        I recommend those interested in working with internal energy, print out J's flow poem and put a few copies around the house for easy reference and reinforcement as a reminder. For those new to these terms and concepts you may have come across this term CHI KUNG or variations of , such as TAI CHI, KI, QI GONG, these methods of energy work involve looking within yourself. These are examples of "Active Meditation Exercise" (note: all meditation is active, even non-action is doing).

Thoughts are focused inward as you actively draw energy to, in, through and out your body. These forms incorporate breath work , meditation, relaxation, seated and standing  postures, muscle control/locking, movement of the body and massage of the internal organs. You take in the life energy that is most readily available to you, air, which we really can't do without for very long, let me tell you...lol. Some styles of energy work look faster than others and use more movement of the extremities; these are all different variations of expression, not better, just different.

Many other art forms and practices have elements of a similar nature.

Having said all that, I am no authority in these areas and hold no degree of official knowledge, more to the point I have done more collection of this kind of info than actual practice, so having said that, be careful, keep searching and seek out what is available to you, don't be afraid to shop around for instruction by a teacher and talk to students who are doin' it.

Beware the 'be all and end all' attitudes displayed by some people. Hey if it works, that is good, just look out for your well being .

Some may get their hands on a video, it can teach but it cannot adapt its applications to suit your specific skill level and ability. 

No, this hasn't stopped me from watching some videos and breathing along. Sure study them, I won't stop you, but it helps to listen to what your body has to say (shoulders are tense, relax, breath is staggering, relax).

Some people think this energy work is, soft and fluffy, for elderly pantomimes practicing before the sun comes up. Time and again much of the "latest" literature takes  great lengths to explain what is to be accomplished,  what to expect, and  why the heck you are hugging invisible trees and holding balls of air in your hands or in your lower abdominal area.

- Here is an example to show some of the benefits: At one time or another we may have exercised our bodies, be it running, jogging, riding a bike, sexualating, or cruising along on one of those shiny lil' scooters (even when we do not understand, we must be loving).

Can we not relate to the grasping (gasping) for breath you can't get enough of?

The burning ache of muscles and the heart moshing blood through your circulatory system like a jackhammer, sweating out every drop of water you've ever had?  Not to forget related injuries caused by fatigued reaction time, human collisions and too much weight on stressed angles.You learn new definitions for sore and stiff. Ow.

If you have never suffered gym class just play along.

All that work to get healthy and stay there.

- Here is my angle on the internal approach towards those physical goals: Where do the benefits come in? Through relaxed deep breathing we are increasing the efficiency of the respiratory system (in with the good, out with the bad).  Air gets deep into the lungs for those hard to reach places and is moved into the blood stream.  The blood is saturated with all the things it naturally wants to offer the body. This gives the body a good inside cleaning. You are taking it to the max for your lungs while  keeping them at a comfortable rate of expansion and contraction, this is, well... optimal.

- The pulses don't stop there my friends, while your lungs act now you receive a ''do it yourself'' blood transfusion of energy, the energy is absorbed throughout the entire body, blood , muscle, organs, joints, the bones (bonemarrow-breathin') and the entire nervous system. Impurities and toxins residing in the body are conveniently taken away in a single breath, it is exhilarating.  Skin is a breathing organ too, you sweat out the toxins, release your rising temperature as the organs and muscles heat up and get comfy.  The pores open and suck back the good stuff too.  During this time things are running smoothly, including your nervous system. Your system is bio-electrical chemical (I know, its shocking). Bio- electrical impulses are happy as they can get, and they celebrate , they get all chatty with one another and mombo (ba,ba,ba,ba,zapzap) through, out the body, up and down the spine and through your brain, where your big Mr. Noodle feels the life (of the party ) and hands out a dose of well being to everybody (endorphins).  I don't do drugs man, I'm high on life.

- So you feel good (a free relaxing vacation, payed by your willpower, given directly to you) and you are working the bagpipes in your chest.

- There are many postures this can be accomplished with and some have effects that produce varied, to specific, intended results. The postures stretch and strengthen muscle without stressing  or ripping them into knots and scars, damaging joints and restricting blood flow. This is like a er .. um... passive isometric exercise.

- Yeah okay sure Blackwell, un huh, where?..

- People all over the world have been expressing their bodies in a vast variety of ways, wrestlers in India build massive amounts of driving leg power, with a very stable, rooted exercise called dands, it resembles a wide stance with bent knees, and a straight  back.

The wrestler squats and dips repeatedly up and down working the joints , opening the hips and building muscle by lifting and lowering his bodyweight like a hydraulic lift or elevator. Hup, hup, Grrrr....

- The shoulder-width stance used in many standing postures accomplishes the same task over a period of time without dangerous levels of fatigue/movement and reducing the possibility of tendon ripping. In the end you, decide if you have a destination, you decide when you walk or run, if the journey is a long expedition (like a long life time),  if it is good to prepare for the long haul, conserving energy, strength and resources without taxing them  too much, then do so.

Your resources are renewable, easily replenished.  Then do so, roots grow deep, bountiful harvest, is reaped.  Then do so.  Many people get excited about the energy control that can be developed and manipulated.

This movement of energy is a direct result of willpower.

This energy works with meditation and  can open/close chakras, Spin the chakras, Open the third eye, Kundalinilicious...

Hello,

Thankyou for giving some attention to my post. I  give you permission to post this as part of a page and would like to contribute further information and discussion with other members. I would ask that you please show this post of mine to other managers for approval and I would like to reiterate that I have no expertise in this field. Raising and playing with internal energy is not all peaches and cream. I have made a (large) connection with qi gong and the process of kundalini. I have yet to raise kundalini. Please note that this experience can be very dangerous and even fatal to people regardless of their skill level with manipulation of the chakras.

This process of spiritual liberation has attracted me as I am sure it appeals to others as well. I believe this particular page and information should have some kind of disclosure that insures the safety of all of us at the SLC. It should state that we, myself foremost , are not experts and are only discussing the topic, any insights we uncover or methods we review cannot insure the safety of the hobbyist/member should they attempt any energy exercise and experience any sideffects, positive or negative.

If we are going to talk about it we should make sure everyone using or discussing the information is careful and looking out for their own well being. Every time I enter Witanegemot I must click the agree button but ,I access SLC and do not come across that screen moving from e-mail to there.

There are some materials I would recommend that members view and read.Videos, books and the like...

There are some  matters of global important concerning one particular style of Qi Gong. Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) a free system to all, is condemned in China. The police authorities are encouraged to physically assault Falun Gong practitioners when they are in custody. Why they are taken into custody for practicing is a matter to look into. Some practitioners have sustained fatal injuries from these beatings.

I do not endorse Falun Dafa. There is much controversy surounding this movement, and is receiving much attention from the global media. What you believe about anything , is entirly up to you . Be responsible for your own actions whenever possible."

I think the SLC should take up a thurough understanding of this topic should we pursue the study of internal energy.
