I'll be the judge of that! Big RE fan here! I even own Jill's watch from the REmake, and her gun from the 3rd game! (Quite a story how I got it through customs). Haha! |

Will get back to you when I've played the 4th game. Have been way too busy to commit to any game at the moment. Stupid police setbacks. |

No, Jan, that's the worst one released IMHO, called Resident Evil: Outbreak. I bought it, played it for about an hour, and couldnt wait to sell it. The computer-controlled characters in your team seem to do whatever they bloody want, regardless of your commands!!!!! This was the thing that annoyed me about it. Good game idea, but it really doesn't work. |

Some people consider no 4 the PSX game of "Resident Evil: Gun Survivor", but I like to see those as add-ons rather than official storyline. I consider Code Veronica no. 4, yeah. |

What's messed things up though, Jan, is the release of Resident Evil 4 for the gamecube! Now CV will just be considered a kind of spin-off to the main storyline I guess. Don't know where it stands now exactly. |

Anything's worth getting if you are a die-hard fan. The least you can do is criticize it for how it doesn't compare with the past games. You will appreciate it all the same though. RE4 is an excuse to further the story of a past character - Leon S. Kennedy - and I fear it might be as frustratingly forced as Claire Redfield's story in Code Veronica, which I feel could have been made more RE-gamer-friendly, and better. The fully roaming polygonal world they put CV in, as opposed to the static camera shots of the former RE games kind of worked... but I feel the storyline was not as strong as the former games. Also, the static camera shots are what makes RE such a cool game. Adds to the suspense! The bosses were a bit more unbelievable in CV too. I loved the first three games. They are my firm favourites and always will be. I even bought the story books and the author did a FINE job of fleshing out the characters and adding to the feel of the games when I played them next. She's a huge RE fan and it shows. Oh, and I have some cute props from the games that I bought from Hong Kong. (Door key to the Raccoon Police Dept., S.T.A.R.S. keycard, Umbrella keycard, etc.) |
