One speaks for itself in SO many circumstances. I think that's why Bono continues to use it so frequently .......B/C of the Power of ONE

Yes, it's a song that carries a lot of different meanings which can apply to many different ppl. I think that's probably why it's my all time favorite song. |

Streets, One, Love and Peace or Else, New Year's Day, Yahweh, Stay, Please, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Bad, Bullet the Blue Sky, Mysterious Ways, Wake Up Dead Man, Walk On... oh there are so many, but Monday is MLK day, so... PRIDE in the name of LOVE: I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. There is nothing more dangerous than to build a society with a large segment of people in that society who feel that they have no stake in it; who feel that they have nothing to lose. People who have a stake in their society protect that society, but when they don't have it, they unconsciously want to destroy it. If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the host of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well. I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become reality. I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word. Violence as a way of achieving racial justice is both impractical and immoral. It is impractical because it is a descending spiral ending in destruction for all. It is immoral because it seeks to humiliate the opponent rather than win his understanding; it seeks to annihilate rather than to convert. Violence is immoral because it thrives on hatred rather than love. Instantly Sunday Bloody Sunday came to mind, but then there is The Redemption Song and One and Stay (far away, co close) and so many more... so when i sat down to really think about it, no one song is more powerful to me, each and every U2 song has its own heart, its own breath... its own magic and power... each touch me in a different way.. then there is Stuck in a Moment.... how awfully true is that song... and suicide, it touches us all in someway, i almost died the day i heard Michael Hutchence was dead... I quite like INXS too... So yeah, I'm rambling again, I am good at that... Like I was saying.. all their songs have a meaning to me, thus a power... they take me away, move me, make me angry at the situation, make me cry... make me agree.... if anything, the band and their musicalcapabilities are powerful and cannot be placed down to one single song But then that is just my opinion Dee - You gotta stand up straight, carry your own weight, these tears are going nowhere, baby |

Lovely the way you put that, Dee. I think you are right about how each song touches you and has its own life. |

I'm still leaning toward One and Streets, although I think Crumbs and Wave of Sorrow are very powerful. There are a lot of powerful U2 songs out there. |
