IF TODAY.............

 

If today I’m lonely I hope I’ve company,

If today I’m tearful someone may sit with me,

If today there’s sadness I hope I see a smile,

If today I sicken someone may nurse me for a while,

If today I’ve burdens someone may share my load,

If today I’m frightened is someone there to hold,

If today I worry I hope someone will care,

And if today I weaken I pray someone is there.

But if today I see someone,

Worse off than myself,

I hope that they may find in me,

Someone who’ll be a help,

For all those things that other’s do

To ease my troubled mind,

For this I am so grateful,

And will do the same in kind.
