'The Tao gave birth to the one source, The one source gave birth to two things, Then to three things, Then to ten thousand'
THE GREATER HEAVENLY CIRCUIT There are just some things I should say before continuing with the exercises.......when practicing outside it is best not to practice in a windy place since this tends to disperse chi.......and dress appropriately and comfortably as and according to the season and your needs. The next exercises are a continuation of the microcosmic circuit, but now use the inner eye to move the the chi through the torso head arms and legs.....this is called the Greater Heavenly Circuit or the macrocosmic bodily circle, and its action is to activate the meridians { which are channels that link the body organs in one continuous circuit that is separate from the ren and du circuit...but linked via the madia of the nervous system } We should not overlook the importance of our breathing, after all pretty much the first thing we do at birth is breath, to breath deep into the lower abdomen is the thin, long and thin and quiet....in through the nose and out through the mouth ... as the Chinese say,.... is the prime method of connecting our higher dan tiens with the lower dan tien....thus bringing the heavenly energy down to our lower centres, our abdominal brain so as to say, our moving centre...it is in the lower dan tien that the chi which is transported there with the breathe, starts the process of rejuvenation or of gathering chi to be used for spirit development. Right breathing is assisted by right posture, which also enables the proper flow of the chi through the body, so in standing we want to feel like a skeleton hanging with knees slightly bent feet flat on floor....our weight should be sinking downwards and we should be aware of any body tensions and allow them to release feel the weight of the arms as they hang, relax in the hips and knees feel the weight in the feet.....feel as though your weight is sinking do not bend your knees beyond your toes....remember your head as though hanging by a thread from the crown young children tend to adopt a similar stance naturally....and we are returning to the natural undoing our painful ways in these practices.
