THE CIRCUITS In the summer everyday the bees gather pollen for their honey.....its not like they take the day off or something......well true they are programmed....they have no choice.......we do....... and usually go for the lazy option......well if you want to reap the benefits of this exercise it needs to be practiced daily this way the chi or nectar as it is sometimes called in the Hindu paradigm is gathered and soul energy, honey is produced....by this spirit is enlivened and soul grows, so we should program ourselves to do these daily preferably in the morning and late evening before bed. The benefits will soon become obvious. These exercises will show us a lot about the state of our mind we will soon see how out of control it is as you wander off on oh so many thoughts, this is how we waste so much energy....thought is energy....so it is important to keep the mind doing what you want it to do , this way energy is stored and becomes the restorative factor to health in body mind and spirit....I suppose you could say returning to your default settings. The first circuit shown....the microcosmic circuit basically reconnect the yin and yang of the microscopic circuit, that is to say the yin which is the frontal channel ( ren ) to the yang aspect of the circuit the back channel ( du ) When this circuit is activated ,when the power is switched on all the bulbs in the body are enlivened, the kidneys gall bladder lungs heart and all other body organs are connected into the orbit via the spine through the neurological connections from the brain, which incidentally is also enlivened by this practice The second circuit exercise of three yang circuits..[that is from perineum to ba hui then down the front...and the either once or twice wind circuit...that is from the perineum up the front vis hsian chi] is intended to balance the chi in the different seasons...thus in the cooler seasons of autumn it is recommended that only one cooling wind circuit is done...and in spring and summer two cooling circuits ...personally on rather cold spring days i will tend to do the winter set ...or if the autumn is very hot will do the summer ones till the yang aspect of the weather decreases The third exercise with the water circuit is about bringing chi into the circulatory system and the lymphatic system , and should not be done at times of menstruation as it may increase the menstrual flow. The yin yang circuit balances the body and also starts to employ the central channel to run the chi through the centre of the body thus enlivening the heat lungs kidneys directly enhancing their health. So things to remember sit or stand as though head is supported from heaven...in this posture it should feel as though the head is being drawn up from the point where the jaw meets the skull......back comfortably straight sacrum tucked slightly under....if standing relax in hips and have knees slightly bent Breath in through the nose out through the mouth [i forgot to mention this earlier ] make the breaths long silent and thin ,breath into the lower dan tien so as to feel the belly expanding. Keep aware in what you are doing as you lead the breaths....and when you notice you have run off with your mind bring yourself back to what you are doing start again ......rather than being peeved with yourself for going off track.....congratulate yourself that you even noticed....in life we are always running off track without noticing. After three months this will be part of you ...so good luck do not expect results if you do not practice . THE YIN YANG CIRCUIT also known as the TAI CHI CIRCUIT 1) Breath out take chi to perineum 2) On the in breath bring chi to the third eye [the ying yang...remembering to place tongue on upper palate to facilitate passage of chi from the ren channel to the du channel. 3) On out breath release tongue and with minds eye lead chi to upper palate then down back of throat to heart intestines and kidneys then to the surface of the skin at the point just above the third thoracic vertebrae then lead the chi to the perineum 4) On in breath bring chi back up the spinal line to the crown [ba hui ] then on out breath lead chi back down to the T3 point [ also known as the ming men or door of life] then to the perineum......repeat the exercise once 5) Lead chi back to lower dan tien and balance the chi there by the series of breaths in for 5...out for 9secs in for 5 out for eight until you equalise with a 5 in 5 out breath....do this at the end of all your chi kung exercises.
