When walking in the shadow the Light tries to cut through.
But if you don't see the other man then how can he see you.
Shrouded from reality we walk this dismal road
Many times in solitude with no-ones hand to hold.
We crave not then for company in case the flaws are seen
And fight with an illusion as though it were a dream.
We cannot bear to see ourselves and challenge those who do,
We scream and shout 'don't question me I'm not wrong it's you'
And when the world looms over us with truth that causes pain,
We make ready our escape and try to hide again.
It's easier to run away instead of standing firm,
It's easier to say 'I quit' than 'I want to learn'
Try to find that strength and view the pains of yesterday
Look at the map you call your life and pave another way.
Stand up and say 'this isn't me' and find the Self within,
Face your Self with honesty then progress can begin.
For somewhere lies a little seed that grows into Insight,
Cast off your cloak and face the dawn and step into the Light.
