Delving in the chasms,
The cave that is the mind,
That's covered under layers,
With ropes that seem to bind,
Foraging to find ones Self
That seems so buried deep.
And as we stretch to grasp on to,
All seems out of reach,
A maze of contradictions,
The thoughts they swap and change,
And those that are enigmas,
We try to re-arrange,
And make some sense of how we are.
Our moods dictate our action,
And then we probe and question why
And then we voice retraction.
So as we wander through the mind
We meditate to seek
That side of how we yearn to be,
And cast out part that's bleak.
So as we sort out burdens that
Weigh so heavily,
And sift through all our files within
And clear away debris
So when at last we reach the core
And gaze upon our essence
We then embrace what we've achieved,
And thank God for the lesson.
