AN EASY CHAIR
I am like an easy chair
Relax within my arms
I’ll cushion you, relieve your aches
And bring to you much calm.
Rest and feel my texture
The fabric of my Self
Sink into my being
For contentment be a wealth.
I may be old and tattered
For I’ve been used before
Many times I’ve held someone
That’s what easy chairs are for.
My frame is strong and sturdy
Supportive, some say firm
But I am filled with softness
When I bring that peace you yearn.
My fibre wove with strongest thread
That’s stood the test of time
I am not much to look at
But I’m full of Love Divine.
Yes I am like an easy chair
Where you can sit and sleep
Resting mind and body
And for now I’m yours to keep.
