I Wonder Why . . . by Angel "Sometimes, I just wonder why . . ." A friend said this today. Tomorrow isn't promised, Today's the day I say! Tomorrow may bring blindness, A heart attack, or pain. Perhaps I'll never get the chance To hear from you again. It may bring a loss of fortune, Perchance a speeding bus. What we do today is Entirely up to us. Let's say I love you to a child or write a far-off friend. Perhaps we'll even plant a tree, This injured Earth to mend. Forget tomorrow's forecast, Play in the sun today. Clouds may gather in the morn, yet today was not wasted away. Copyright ©2005, Susan Marie Cleveland. All rights reserved. |
