Seaside
Sitting on a boulder looking out at the Horizon in all directions, seeing whales as they surface and throw water up from their blow holes. Enjoying the blue skies and warm sun, watch the sea eagles as they swoon down and dive for their days meals.
I climb down from the boulder and walk along the beach allowing the cool water to splash over my feet and legs. I pick up the odd stones of pearl white, deep red, and mystifying blue. I see a rather large sea shell stuck in the sand and the water covering it as if the shell is being cleansed.
I pick it up and put it next to my ear, and I feel I hear your voice in the distance, but can’t hear the words you speak. In frustration I bring it down and hold it close in hopes that maybe when I place it back to my ear again tomorrow I will hear you clearly say “I will be there soon? Be patient.
I continue to walk the beach holding on to my special gift. I climb on another boulder in time to watch the sun slowly descend in its majestic colours of red, and orange.
