A bright sunlight day, sitting by the river across the bridge.
My feet dangling in cold clear water, I lay back on the fresh grass
letting go of all that holds me here
I allow me to rise to the highest point above.
I sit anxiously waiting at the Iron gate, and as it begins to open,
I enter, but I’m only allowed to walk a short distance within this garden
of perfection.
I sit taking in all aromas of all that is around, individually and collectively they make the sweetest perfume.
I sit amidst this beautiful garden and listen to the music which is created by the winds. It’s as if an orchestra is playing. Soon the choirs begin, first the men, then the women. I sit with my eyes closed enjoying each moment of this perfection. There is a soft tap on my shoulder, she says Sarah you have to go back now. I beg to stay, hear just a bit more. She says It’s time, and you must leave. She escorts me back to the Iron gate, blesses my forehead and says:
“Carry this in your heart, remember it when times get difficult. It is these memories that keep you safe, Sarah?
The gate closes and I’m back at the river again. I rise to my feet and begin the journey back across the bridge trying not to cry.
