Over the years, I have become increasingly popular as a pet because of my intelligence and beauty.  I have tame and affectionate characteristics.

I am found in many sizes ranging from about 20 inches to no bigger than 9 inches.  I come in all different colors from lush green to a brilliant yellow.  Red, blue, orange, brown, and white all serve to highlight me.

My natural habitat ranges from Mexico and Central America to the Caribbean Islands and South America.  I am sometimes referred to as a small version of the macaw: its shape is slender, and its tail is tapered and graduated.  I have a very high-pitched voice, and am capable of learning a few words.

What species am I?

Well can I join Nan on that limb? Conure--I just want to know the name of the BIG one--if we are right.               Katz

Can I play on the limb too???   I think the Patagonian Conure is the largest conure.  I remember reading that in a book just several days ago, so it was still fresh in my mind.

I agree with conure.  Patagonian is the largest- two sub-species. My Pati is about 18 inches. We aren't sure which sub-species she is.  Annie

Of course it's a conure!! I should have known that you guys would get it right off!! Okay, so now someone should come up with a description, only maybe a more difficult one than I did?
