  1. Hi I am Meg, and I have
  2. had rought time. This is my story.
I'm new here and I'm not sure if this is going to be done right. I have been DX. with degerative arthritis and fibromyalgia Crohns and delt with Breast cancer. So I have many pain issues.  My husband andI are caring for his father in our home as well. he has had several strokes and is on oxgyen and special diet, many medical needs. Which leave me exhausted and I am in pain 24-7...
  3. I finally received some pain control with injections in my hips.
  4. Now I do get some sleep at night. My arthritis dr gave me pills to help me sleep. I have felt so much better getting some sleep.
  5. I have to do exercises and get stronger...I plan on starting with some yoga.stress releiver. The stress is unkind here.
  6. Every morning I pray and get grounded as to having a positive attitude and to be happy. Plan on doing some arts and crafts today. I want to get some rest. My husband is at work and I am busy with some house work in my own pace. I have lowered my cleaning standards to the point that I am happy with and it is still clean. The pain is always with me. I am weak and need to become stronger and do more things that make me happy. Be happy. L&P God Bless
  7. My doc's understand and I get what I need to help in my pain. be honest and truthfull.
  8. Thank you Meg

Hi, I'm Dan and I'm one of the managers here.  I'm sure the others will be by to say hello soon.

Welcome to the family.  We're a family due to the fact we all have pain 24/7 and all understand.

Over on the left is all kinds of information on pain and links to a lot of other information.  Let us know if you have any questions.  Otherwise, welcome again.

Healing hugs and lots of love,

Dan

Dea Meg
I am sorry I didn't see your post earlier. You accidently posted it on the Reading Room, which is for book reviews, and I am positive thats why there are not many replies here.
Best to click on "General" we are ususally on the board for sure! I can see how the title Reading Room can be misleading, maybe I will change it to Book Talk
Anyways....
My heart went out to you when I read your post.
I am so sorry about the life you are having right now. I have degenrative disc disease, so I fully understand the arthritic flare-ups and resptrictions. I too have Fibromyalgia, and MFS, but thank goodness I do not have Crohns. And I am really sorry your father is sick and you are attemping to care for him? That is way more than  you ought to be doing, but as I read further on I see you are trying to keep things going in a healthy fashion, with doctors guidance, meds and treatments, as well as yoga and crafts. Those are excellent choices for you. I also lowered my standards a few years ago. You will get used to it in time.
Keep us posted on how things work out and how you are feeling.
Hannah

Hi, Meg, welcome to the family!  Come on over to the General board and meet the rest of us.  You don't need to number your points; just space paragraphs and we'll figure it out.  : )  There are all kinds of styles and no-styles here; you'll see!  If you scroll down in the navigation area (the pale blue section) you'll see a link to member bios; you can learn about many of themembers there.  My bio and Dan's are also in the Navigation area.  And there's Pictures, Links, all kinds of useful information to be found.

I'm glad you are getting some medication to help you deal with your pain, and that the yoga and exercises are helping you.  Maybe you can take up Tai Chi, which is very gentle stretching and balancing motions. It should be less stressful on your joints than most exercises.  I'm with you on the housework, too; heaven knows it's not going to go away so why kill yourself trying to maintain unreasonable standards?  If it's tidy and decently clean, it's good.  : )

Hi, Kelly, welcome to the family.

That's a really sad story.  I can't believe your husband just went off to bed and left you laying there on the floor.  What's the matter with him?

Are you keeping a pain diary?  Over on the left is a sample pain chart.  You can use that as an example and make one up of your own, and then begin to track your pina on a daily basis.  For example, having to lie on the floor and not being able to get up has got to be pain around an 8 or 9 pain level.  But you have to decide what it is for you, and define it.  OK?  () pain is no pain at all.  10 pain is the worst pain you've ever had.

Let us know if you have questions, OK?

Welcome again.

Healing hugs and lots of love,

Dan

I can understand all of this...I had teh cleanest house on the block...now it is not so pretty all the time.  I have found things are not so worrisome like cleaning the kitchen everynight after dinner.....the dishes aren't going to talk bad about you tomorrow. like man we were in the sink havin a party and all of a sudddennnn    WATER and hot at that....Try to not let the house bother you, do what you can and thank God for what you can do.  It may only ease the mind but I cant hardly walk..  I have no disk at L5-S1 level and Degenerative Disk Disease and 1 inch of arthritis on my plevic bone, I am 35 yr  female who was making $3,200 a week and have almost lost everything . due to this major find in May 05.....The pain never leaves me alone---I wish it would give me a break, but other that that Joyce Meyers with Enjoying everyday life....keeps me going or Joel Osteen.com   could not do anything without this every day in my like....Keep your Chin up babe

Hi, Kelli.  Welcome back.  Gosh it's been a long time since we've seen you.

You say that things are better.  I'm so glad to hear that.  I really considered writing you when you dropped off the boards, but I didn't want to be pushy.

Are you getting better medicines now?  I sure hope so.  Let us know what we can do to help, hon.  Welcome back again...

Healing hugs and lots of love,

Dan
