The actual distance from the Entrance to the Angel is about 300 yards. Gail and Chris decided to do the "run" separately with Gail going first and Chris waiting behind with a walkie talkie. It has to be said, in the pitch black of night it looked very spooky. As Gail started running she was quite spooked and seemed to take ages to get there. She touched its feet then held up her torch and seeing the Angel looked very very scary to me watching it on tv, so you can imgaine how Gail described she was feeling. There were no tears and no flapping wings, just darkness, dogs barking in the distance and then Gail heard noises. She was convinced that Chris had followed her in but he hadn't and so Gail frantically called out to Chris on her walkie talkie.   By the time Chris did his run to the statue Gail was in a right state that it had taken him so long to get there because she was really freaked out.

Afterward they spoke to a local historian who said there were many stories of ghostly figures being seen in the cemetary and the youthful looking ghost of Buddy himself.

Next Gail and Chris decided to bring in some more people whilst at the cemetary, Wild Rose (and some members of her coven) who is a Wiccan High Priestess and who has worked with the dead for several years and a local physic Lesley Stoune who describes herself as a Neo-Pagan who can sometimes hear, smell and see spirits.

They all proceeded to Buddy's gravesite and stood around it in a circle and joined hands while Wild Rose chanted. As Wild Rose chanted, it could be seen on camera that Gail who was sitting on the grass, had her coat hood pulled down slowly. As this occured she asked if anyone had pulled her hood down which they had not. Gail said it definately felt like someone had done it but of course it may have just fell down. Wild Rose asked for Buddy to come through and any one else around to come through. Chris began to smell chewing tobacco in a certain spot then it went.  Wild Rose sensed an evil spirit about who, for some reason, did not want one of her coven (Bobbi) around the cemetary. Chris also sensed this and could feel pent-up anger building within this spirit person. Chris felt it stand behind him.  It was picked up that the spirit was a protector of some kind and it was not happy with the groups presence there.  Bobbi tried a couple of times to go near the grave but she shrieked out that it didnt want her to go any further and this seemed to shake her up so she kept back, however later on Bobbi had trouble moving from the spot she was in, ie moving her feet and ended up falling back onto the grass. Gail who is the sceptic admitted that she unexplainably could feel the pressure weighing down onto Bobbi. They decided to end their time at the cemetary then.

The following morning Gail and Chris decided next to venture on to the Surf Ballroom in Ioha as this was the last place that Buddy, Ritchie and the Big Boppa played to their fans before boarding that fateful flight that same night. They invited local psyhic & Tarot Reader Sue Walker along for the night investigation.  Sue walked around calling out to Buddy and said she felt the area was very potent. They all heard what sounded like a whisper at one point and so Chris called out to any spirits that may be there. They went to the Green Room, a small room, covered in graffiti, I assume its where bands would sit and wait to go on.  Chris asked again for any spirits there to make themselves known.  There was a noise heard which sounded to me like a chair moving, its legs squeaking. Gail went to investigate the ballroom floor alone.  Said she felt it was quite spooky and reminded her of "the shining". At one point as she moved her torch around the walls, she was certain she saw a dark figure. The director, also saw this. However when they looked back at the film footage nothing could be seen. Sue picked up a feeling of wanting to go home, she felt she had picked up on Buddy's thoughts that night, that although he had wanted to play to his fans, he had wanted go back home to texas to be with his wife and be back in the warm. 

Next, at a certain spot, Sue burst out laughing and asked Gail to stand in the spot and tell her what she felt - Gail said she felt a burst of cold. Sue described this as normal energy. Sue stood in the spot where Gail and the director had thought they had seen a dark figure and said she was picking up on a rich, ritchie or richard - could this be Ritchie Valance? She said he liked being in the limelight and wanted that feeling once more.  Their investigation at the Surf Ballroom ended there.

The following day the one place left to visit was the cornfield in Ioha where the plane crashed occured. The met with the owner and he explained how the plane went down and where the bodies were found. At night time all 3 returned and agreed it was very eerie and atomospheric there. As it was so cold Chris decided it was futile to use any equipment to try and pick up temperature changes. He decided to just use his sensing abilities. He went off to the point of impact. He sensed sadness and picked up on a traumatic event. He then picked up a person, he said it was Big Boppa. Gail was standing near to a small memorial for Buddy in the cornfield  and the spot where Buddy's body was actually found, and she said she felt like she was being watched and asked a couple of times is there was anyone standing behind her. At one point she said she saw a big shadow and then called out to Chris to join her. When Chris joined her he picked up on the placed memory of Buddy. Chris described Buddy's last thoughts. He said that Buddy had felt he had survived the crash and stood up and then saw the other figures of his bandmates standing also, then he thought, no how could we have survived that? Next Chris said that Buddy had spotted a body and realised it could be his own and as he walked over he realised it was and then realised he had died. Chris said that although Buddy had felt the sadness all around he had wanted to stay, but that he had moved on and passed over and his spirit was no longer around this cornfield. The investigation ended there and the following morning Gail and Chris talked about how it had gone. Gail had found it very upsetting beccause of the tragic circumstances and being in the actual spot that Buddy and his friends had passed away and Chris felt positive about picking up on Buddy's placed memory.
