The White Lady of Castle Huntly
The castle is said to be haunted by a White Lady, a young woman dressed in flowing white robes. There are various stories concerning her history, one of which is that she was a daughter of the Lyon family who occupied the castle in the 17th century. She began an affair with a manservant at the castle and when their relationship was discovered she was banished to a bedroom high up in the tower overlooking the battlements. Unable to endure her suffering, she threw herself (or was she pushed?) to her death from the tower. The ghost of the White Lady has been seen a number of times over the years, often in the grounds surrounding the castle. She has also been seen in the bedroom in which she was imprisoned.

There are actually two different and conflicting stories that have been recounted. In one version the lady is a ghost of a newlywed who was killed. along with her husband, on her wedding night, when her car, skidding out of control, impacted a tree in the park. In another version the couple are on their way to prom and their limo crashes. There are also allegations that (as with other ghost stories) there has been some blurring or borrowing, and in particular that Annie's Road is a rehosting of this legend.

Brown Lady Ghost - Raynham Hall, Norfolk UK
For 300 years it was the seat of the Townshend family. The hall gave its name to the area, known as East Raynham, and is reported to be haunted, providing the scene for possibly the most famous ghost photo of all time, the famous Brown Lady descending the staircase. However, the ghost has not been reported since the picture was taken. Its most famous resident was Charles Townshend (1674 -1738), leader in the House of Lords.
