Lafferty's Bar

Formerly the George Inn. In 1994 workmen found a human skull and this then seemed to bring to the surface violent poltergeist activity.  Pint glasses have been thrown across the room or smashed in peoples hands in the bar area. The Ghost of a Victorian woman has been seen many times. The cellar is said to be the most haunted place there due to the poltergeist activity that occurs - items move or fly off the table. It is described as a very active place.

Investigation

Derek Acorah, Yvette Fielding, Phil Whyman.

DA picked up straight away on people in uniform rushing past him. (Most Haunted Fact: in 1745 Lafferty's was the HQ and Officers Mess for regimental soldiers called the Derby Blues. These soldiers were raised to defend Derby against Bonnie Prince Charlie's invading Scottish army). DA sensed a thin tall man with long dark brown hair wearing a long jacket with strong forearms. The name Theo came to him. Yvette gave the skull to DA and straight away DA said it was the skull of a female. He said the man who had done the damage to this woman was grounded there. The womans name was Sally. No records could be found with just the christian names. DA spoke to the bar's proprietor about disturbances which occured over the last month. DA talked about one of the woman employees being frightend or touched by this spirit Theo and the Pub proprietor said DA was spot on. Derek said the woman he picked up on earlier had been killed by being hit with something sharp on the head and drew a picture of what looked like a mini scythe or sickle.

Derek said the skull belongs down in the cellar and remarked how it was found and then left there for a while and asked why. The landlord said after the skull had been uncovered it was left there because at the time it was not known if it was a skull from a recent body.  Carbon dating showed that the skill itself is of the Viking era.

01.35am - Karl, Craig, Tom and Andy went to the ladies loo where the gray lady is seen, as people see her when they are washing their hands. They all sat in various places and asked out for any spirits there to show themselves and asked for them to rap/tap something to prove they were there. At that point dragging/thumping noises were heard above them.

 The Heritage Centre

The centre is built on an old graveyard and the people buried there died of the plague. In Tudor times the centre was a boys grammer school.  A little blonde-haired boy has been seen wearing a leather waistcoat - he walks through the dormitory's and walks through walls.  Footsteps, bumps and bangs, doors open by themselves. One of the employees told of one occassion about 10pm when he plainly heard a bunch of kids running up the stairs and then walking towards him but there was nothing there.

Trigger objects were placed but nothing was moved. Although when taking EMF readings whilst setting up, they opened up a couple of floorboards and then took EMF readings which went erratic.

12.45am Upon walking in for a look around Derek picked up on a flurry of visitations by spirit children. Derek saw a man standing in the tearooms with his hands behind his back watching - he said this man was John Cotton. He said he felt this man had a hidden agenda and that he would turn taps on and break items and then watch people reactions. Derek said he felt he was born around 1595 and had strong puritan beliefs which led to him having legal action taken against him in 1632 as his beliefs angered many influential people at that time so he ended up relocating to Boston.

 Derek said that he felt implements in the kitchen area would be moved or be elevated and thrown.

Investigation: Rick, Stuart, Cath, Victoria

They sat around one of the tables but nothing happened although everyone was fairly spooked out especially when a red light on one of the machines came on. They went upstairs to the part where the ghost of the little boy is reguarly seen - the old dormitory. Victoria heard a rustling noise and rushed downstairs in a panic. She returned with Rick and Stuart but nothing else happened.
