About Scream Team:
Scream Team is a TV series currently showing on the late night LivingTv channel. Six young people travel around the UK to different haunted locations to investigate. The team consists of 3 sceptics and 3 beleivers in the paranormal (3 boys & 3 girls). Incidentally, Phil Whyman, of Most Haunted, is one of the six people in the Scream Team "Team"
In this episode the teams' mission was to visit the many underground chambers which lie beneath Edinburgh's Royal Mile and try to ascertain who was haunting down there and investigate. The chambers are over 200 years old and were home to Edinburgh's down-trodden and poverty-stricken people.
The team were going to learn about EVP from an expert (Tina Laurent) as this was going to be used to try to capture spirits voices. They first met with a historian called Fran down in the chambers. Fran conducts regular ghost tours around the chambers. The team were given a history of the chambers and then told about the ghost sightings and supposed hauntings. Fran said that the thing which struck her was that there were the same sightings of the same thing, in the same place, from different unconnected people. Cold spots were reported, footsteps heard and a figure seen in a doorway of a man. This spirit man has breathed on people and also speaks and tells people to get out. He has also shoved and pushed people. There was also the murder of a child allegedly.
One of the team was particuarly sensitive and she had someone, she thought a small child, poking her gently on the back of her leg. The guide/historian Fran then confirmed that there was a child which had been seen many times. She also picked up on the murder of a child.
The team were joined by a psychic medium, Derek Ogilvie in the chambers. At first he had to leave the chambers because it was affecting him quite a bit, at one point he started to cry and said their were hundreds of people down there and it was just awful but he later returned. He made contact with a small boy, a man who told him to get out repeatedly and other spirits. He took the advice after a while and left.
Conclusion:
4 of the team all experienced the same feelings in certain areas of the chambers and the medium, Derek, made contact with spirits who were known ghosts there. He also picked up on the sobbing of a child behind one of the walls, possibly the murdered child.
Tina Laurent picked up a number of voices on EVP and although most were hard to distinguish, there were at least a couple which appeared to say things. All of the team agreed the underground caverns were very spooky but seemed disappointed that they did not come up with more, although the girl that had felt and seen the young child was very happy with her experiences.
