Brannigans Nightclub is situtated in Manchester and has become well known over the years as one of the most haunted bars in Britain. Below it is a modern busy nightclub but upstairs lies the surprise, as it is houses a huge old church (Albert Hall) which was completed in 1910. Alot of People beleive that a Rev. Samuel Collier is one of the ghosts that not only haunts the nightclub and bar, but also the church above.

The Most Haunted Team did an investigation here and this episode is a favourite of alot of Most Haunted fans.

 The Activity: Beer glasses have been seen levitating and smashing by themselves. Lights switch on and off and bottles of alcohol fall over.  In 1999 a team of paranormal investigators headed by a Jeff Stanley conducted an investigation with surprising results.  Upstairs they were overwhelmed with the amount of energies there, of people talking and whispering and they also took alot of photographs which have become quite well-known, as they show hundreds of orbs.

Staff who work at Brannigans tell of the sensation of people walking behind them as they go down the stairs and have even been pushed by unseen spirits. Taps have been known to come on full-force by themselves as well as footsteps being heard. There is the ghost of a young girl who was murdered here and also ghostly shadows have been seen. A violent poltergeist also operates and workers have even been pulled from ladders.  In 1588 a man called Walter De Los Rios carried out the first ever investigation of paranormal activity there and in his accounts, reported no less than 18 demons!!

 The Most Haunted Team on the investigation consisted of Yvette, Karl, Derek Acorah, Phil Whyman, Richard Felix and the other crew members.

 10.45pm - Derek arrived and immediately wanted to go upstairs to the church. He picked up straight away on a man whom he described as a man of the cloth, a benevolent man - a nice man.  Derek then became distressed as he started to pick up on lots and lots of bodies of people laid together - the words he used were "a slaughter" and an "absolute massacre" but said this had nothing to do with the actual building. Derek came up with the name of  Father David and  then a  Rev Michael who also was a good person who looked after children. Derek then explained to Yvette that there was also another good energy and that these 3 energies were active in the building and their job was protecting others from a force he called "a dark one". By this Derek meant a bad energy of an evil man. The name of the third  good spirit came through as Peter.

The Tower: As Derek entered here he spoke of a dark negative energy all around. He said he could hear the voice says "dont you dare come up here" .  As they climbed the steps to the top Derek could strongly feel bad energy there and the name "Godfrey" came to him. Derek then picked up on the hanging of a man which he felt had been done by the evil Godfrey spirit although it had taken place somewhere else. Derek picked up on the spirits of 2 young children, Elisabeth and Phillip. He told Yvette how, although the children were on a different spiritual level to this evil spirit, he could see them and they him and that he tried to run after them, but the children knew that he couldnt get at them. Derek said that if he could have got to them and harmed them he would have.

Most Haunted Fact: A previous paranormal investigation picked up the same names as Derek did as well as the hanging of the man that Derek picked up on.

 Derek then expanded on the unfortunate man who had been murdered . He said he was a man of means and a well respected man and he couldnt understand how someone as well known and respected had been murdered without people knowing about it. Derek described Godfrey as a killer who was never caught. As they were talking Derek told Yvette that Godfrey was fully aware of the teams movements and what they were all doing. As he said that a loud bang was heard from upstairs.  When asked to describe what Godfrey looked like Derek said he had slim shoulders and described him as a "viewer" as Derek was being showed images that pertained to looking through something. Yvette wondered if it could mean he was a projectionist? To this end, some of the team decided to go and sit in the projector booth which houses an old projector and equipment. As they sat there in the dark a noise that sounded like a voice was heard by 4 of them.

Tower 2.50am.

As Yvette, Derek and Phil returned up to the tower Yvette immediately smelt baby's sick very strongly. And as quickly as it appeared it disappeared which was very odd. Derek spoke of a little boy and a little girl - Daniel and Sarah aged 3/4 years who were looked after by a lady he described as a lady diocese (female reverend) who looked after these children. Then Derek got a second name of  Godfrey - Parks. Derek described how this evil spirit was trapped in the atmosphere for all time until he repented for his sins but Derek said he was evil and angry and had no intentions of doing so and that he wished to be left alone.  As Derek talked he then began to channel the apparent spirit of Godfrey Parks.

The spirit that came through Derek almost immediately was loud and aggresive - some of what he said was as follows:- GET OUT - GET OUT - YOU!! YOU! As Phil asked him why he was so angry he replied "WHY DO YOU TALK TO ME? THIS BELONGS TO ME - NO-ONE ELSE!! (At this point I myself spotted an orb fly across the camera).

The spirit carried on "SHE HITS MY LEGS..... (who?) LITTLE MITE, SARAH. The Derek walked around aggresively and spookily around the crew looking at them all intently with everyone obviously shaken wondering what would happen next. "I WILL PUSH AND I WILL DAMAGE YOU -WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?? GET OUT GET OUT LEAVE ME, LEAVE ME!!. At this point Derek began to get really agitated and enraged and stated laughing manically, and the team had to call Derek's wife Gwen to try and bring Derek out of it. Derek finally collapased as Gwen and Phil attended to Derek who was moaning at people to get him out of there over and over - he then complained about this legs -where were his legs - he couldnt feel his legs....?

Whether you are a sceptic or not, a fan of Derek of not - it was probably one of the most disturbing incidents ever to occur on a most haunted investigation.

Going back to earlier, when Yvette had smelled the baby sick.  As they left that place, they had left behind a dictaphone which was left to record. Checking the material afterwards they were surprised to hear what had been captured. It sounds like a small child or a baby gurgling!!

At 3.45am the team decided to assemble together and hold a seance. As they called out not alot happend.

As they sat round asking questions to see whether Godfrey or Rev Samuel Collier was  around they did hear laughter. When someone asked whether Godfrey Parks had been upstairs with Derek, the sounds of wind whistleing past everyone was heard plainly and loudly and then it just stopped. Cath also said she felt something lightly touch her shoulder.

Investigation ends.
